Once I was lost

With no place to call home

Lonely and saddened

Burdened with no hope

Once I was careless

Reckless without thought

Making mistakes that left me

More than distraught

Then you came and you found me

In a dark little place

Where darkness hid everything

Even the tears on my face

And you came with your light,

Not too bright, not too dim,

You placed your hand in mine

And asked me to stand

Leading me out of there

Was a journey of its own,

But you never gave up on me

Instead you found me a home.
