A love poem about saving someone:

Once upon a time
When we were just the same
We gathered all our hope
To stand against the rain

I opened up my heart for you
A foolish plan it was
For loss and suffering always follow
Every time I try to love

A tender kiss of affection
Another life now taken
I do not want to believe
That our story now is ending

In stories of old and greatness
The hero always saves his love
With a kiss so sweet and soft
As white and pure like a dove

Like a river flowing swiftly
In a night so black
Time has changed its course
Right behind my back

I'm the one who needs saving
Princess, don't you see?
That your the only one who can
Bring back the light inside me?

Please don't run away, love
When I need you to hold my hand
Please tell me all the good things
So we can make a better plan

Rescue me from my prison cell
And I'll save you just once more
So this time I'll make it right
And let our  bound hearts soar
