Dilemma

108 4 3

I've told you once before
That I am your home
I know you are the only one
To whom my heart belongs

Recently, I found out a secret
Wait, no, quite a few
And now I'm feeling helpless
At how I'm going to tell you

I just can't blurt it out
Like I normally do
That would change everything, you see
And I'm afraid I'll lose you

Life is not as easy
As it used to be
Although, I still feel quite at ease
When you are right beside me

But if I could turn back time
Just to keep you safe
To keep our memories sweeter
And that smile upon your face,

I'd do it in a heartbeat
Because you mean so much to me
I want you to live a happier life
Not the one you now see

I told you this the other day
When the clouds were hanging low
And the sun felt like it was miles away
And the sky was crying snow

" I'm stronger now, don't worry"
You said through chattering teeth
" I'd never leave you anyways
That's a promise that I'll keep "

I took you then and held you close
Because I hope your promise rings true
The are dangers of my secrets
That I can't begin to tell you

But listening to your words
I know that I must tell you
Because strong you have become
And when I tell you, I know you will not run

Lying is something I could never do
To the ones I love, especially you
So I'll tell it quick
And tell it true

And I hope that when I'm done
You'll decide to stay with me
Because like you,
I could never leave anyways.
