Feilds of Autumn

Silent, are the leaves of autumn

As they tumble to the ground

Happy, are the fields of autumn

For they are harvest bound

Loudly, sings the wind of autumn

Through sturdy, shifting pines

As it breezes past snow capped mountains

And orange-glistening skies

Warm, is the hearth in autumn

For a fire always blooms there

When the chilly, frigid gusts begin

Blasting through the dry air

Lovely, are the smells of autumn

With lazy wood smoke drifting

From outside towards open windows

Where pumpkin pie is baking

Oh, Autumn, how I love you so

More than the heat of summer

And winter's slushy snow

Oh, Autumn, your colors seem to glow

Bright and cheery,

And they make me feel less weary

Though your weathers often dreary

Yet, I look forward to it yearly

Oh, Autumn, I love you dearly.
