"There's a lot of hope riding on you Ambrosia."

Zak talked to me as if he knew I could hear.

"So you got wake up. Thomas can't take much more of this, the guilt's eating him up..." Zak's voice trailed off,the pain obviously choking him.

"'The guilt is eating him up'? Jeez which sob story did you steal that from? The notebook?" This voice was harsher and held more anger.

"Percy," Zak said and the sound of a chair protesting as someone quickly stood up filled my ears,"What are doing here?"

Zak's tone was cold, colder than I had ever heard it.

The other boy Percy laughed.

"Relax kid. I came to check on her. How is she?" Percy asked.

"Thomas doesn't want you here," Zak said, ignoring Percy's question.

A low growl from further in the room sent shivers down my spine.

"Thomas doesn't want me here?" Percy growled.

"No. So you should leave before he gets back," Zak snapped.

"Before he gets back? Well you tell Thomas that I-"

"Tell me what pretty boy?"

My heart leapt in my chest as Thomas' voice interrupted Percy.

"That I'm not staying away from her," Percy continued coolly.

"You will if you know what's best for you," Thomas snarled.

Angry footsteps resounded off the floor and the low thud of someone's fist connecting echoed off the walls, broken by a muttered omf.

""You should have left when Zak told you," Thomas said coldly.

Percy laughed."You think a little punch will make me leave Golden boy? Think again," he snickered.

"I warned you," Thomas.

I felt the tension rise, heard the shuffling of feet and-

"Stop."

All movement stopped,all sound ceased.

"Stop...fighting." My voice was rusty, rough and obviously unused.

"She spoke," Zak said, surprise in his voice.

"No kidding smart Ass," Percy snapped although he seemed just as shocked.

"She's waking up," Thomas said and the sound of quick foot fall reached my ears," Ambrosia? Ambrosia, can you hear me?"

I tried desperately to respond as another set of footsteps echoed closely.

My lips twisted desperately, words falling in my tongue but not leaving my mouth.

"Its ok Ambrosia," Thomas whispered," Take your time waking up. I'm right here."

I heard the steady footfall of someone leaving and exhaustion suddenly washed over me, blackness engulfing me as Thomas took my hand, his words echoing.

"I'll be here when you wake up. Don't worry Amb..."
