"I should-uh I should go," I said, pulling my hand away from his.

"No! I mean...don't go. Please," he said, his eyes searching my face and settling on my eyes.

His shone like crystals and sparkled with something dangerous.

"It's too loud here," I replied, backing away.

"Then we'll go somewhere else. Somewhere more quiet. Somewhere where it's just the two of us," he said, giving me a lopsided grin.

I shook my head. "We can't do this anymore. I'm with Thomas."

"You don't have to be," he said, taking my hand again.

"What?" My eyes snapped open.

"You could break up with him. We could finally be together. No more being secretive about our feelings. We can be free," he said.

"No! I'm with Thomas! I've been with him for four years and you want me to break up with him because you think you like me?" I said, horrified.

He shrugged.

"Times change," he said, his eyes piercing.

"No. They don't," I said, ripping my hand away.

"What the hell are you doing here? And with him," Thomas said, glaring at Percy.

Percy glared backed, a snarl on his lips.

"I needed- I needed answers," I replied.

"About what?" He asked, his snarl matching Percy's.

"Something important," I said, stepping between the two.

"Something you couldn't talk to me about?" Thomas asked, looking down at me, hurt in his eyes.

"I-I'm sorry Thomas. It's just-"

"Actually, know what? I don't want to hear it. We're leaving. Now," he took my arm roughly and begun pulling me away from Percy.

I looked back at him, his jaw clenched and his eyes blazing.

I shook my head as he took a step towards us and he reluctantly stopped, watching us go.

"Thomas slow down. I- I can't keep up with you when you're going so fast," I replied, stumbling.

He glared down at me and I shut up, his pace never slowing.

We reached the house and he ripped the door open, shoving me inside.

I stumbled and gripped the banister, the door slamming behind him.

"Thomas wait. Let me explain please," I said, my head following him as he stalked up the stairs.

"You've said more than enough Ambrosia. Actions speak a lot louder than words. And your actions are telling me you want him more than you want me," Thomas replied, stomping halfway up the stairs as I followed him frantically.

"What? Thomas that's not true," I said, grabbing his wrist.

He stopped abruptly as I opened my mouth to say something.

"Tho-"

And fell backwards as his fist crashed into my face, throwing me down the stairs.
