I shut my locker and jumped when I saw Percy leaning against the lockers behind mine.
"I say we go for fries. Like super greasy and cheesy fries," he said, his arms crossed over his chest.
"Seriously? That's why you scared the shit out of me? For fries?" I said, glaring.
"Well I mean we can get ice cream if you want it more. I'm not picky," he shrugged, trailing after me.
"Just give my stomach a second. It's still in space," I said.
"I told you I was meeting you after school didn't I?" He smirked, taking my bag off my shoulder.
"You didn't say we were getting lunch," I pointed out, taking my bag back.
He shrugged, taking my bag again keeping it out of my reach.
"Thomas isn't here today. And he always takes you to lunch doesn't he?" Percy smirked as I vainly tried to get my bag back.
"Actually he makes me lunch," I said, jumping up and trying to grab my bag as he held it high above my head.
"Then I guess I'll have to make you lunch," he said.
"And give me food poisoning? No thanks," I pulled a face.
"Then we'll get fries at the diner downtown," he said, laughing as I vainly jumped up and swiped.
"If I agree will you give me my bag back?"
"Maybe. But only after we leave the diner."
I pouted then sighed and nodded.
"Fine. But only because you're Thomas' best friend and I trust you."
"And because I have your bag and your phone is in it?"
"And that too."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I breathed out as the bell above the door rang, signaling another customer entering.
"Can I have my bag yet?" I asked, staring across the booth.
Percy sat, smirking, his hand resting on my bag.
"We're not out the diner yet. And I haven't walked you home. How much of a gentlemen would I be if I left you out in the cold and let you walk home alone?" He said, feigning displeasure.
"Ugh fine," I said, standing up.
He mimicked me and smirked as we left the cafe.
The snow fell as puddles melted in the road.
I shivered and pulled my coat tighter, my breathe steaming.
I looked up in surprise as something heavy weighed on my shoulders.
Percy's cheeks were rosy red as he put his coat on my shoulders.
"You looked cold," he said, his eyes staring anywhere except my face.
"Uh thanks," I said, pulling it tighter as I stared at him.
He wore a simply white short sleeved t-shirt and his muscles rippled as he slung my bag over his shoulder.
"Let's go," he said, leading me forward, taking my wrist.
He walked quickly and I stumbled, staring at him in awe.
I blushed as he turned and caught me staring, smirking.
"We're here," he said.
His hand had somehow moved from my wrist to my hand and our fingers were intertwined. His hand warmed mine and I blushed, hoping the coldness made it seem as if I was cold.
"Thanks Percy," I said, beginning to shrug off his jacket.
He stopped me, setting my back down next to my foot and said," Keep it until I see you next time."
He put his arms around me as if he was going to hug me, leaning in.
And kissed me.
My eyes widened as he pulled away, a nervous grin on his features.
"Percy-I-Uh-" I stuttered, starting back.
"I'm sorry Amb. But I've been meaning to do that for so long."
And with that, he turned walking away briskly.
I stood, shocked as his figure receded.
Snow fell gently as I stood, the feeling of his soft lips on mine still tingling.
I shook my head as Thomas emerged from the house, putting his arm on my shoulder.
"Hey Amb. You ok? You look cold," Thomas said, kissing my cheek.
I smiled, thankful that he hadn't seen me and Percy.
"Yeah just a little cold," I said, shrugging off Percy's jacket as we entered the house.
"Oh? Did Percy walk you home? That guy really does look out for you," Thomas laughed, taking the jacket from you,"He really is my best mate. Even looks after you when I can't. Well, next time we see him we'll have to give it back."
I smiled nervously.
I breathed in, the memory sudden.
Gathering up my courage, I knocked loudly on the door, waiting as the sound of heavy footsteps pounded.
"Yeah?" The door opened, revealing a handsome boy dressed in grey sweatpants and a simple whit t-shirt.
He looked annoyed until he saw me.
"Princess. What're you doing here?" Percy smirked.
