"I'm going out!" I yelled, the front door already open.

"You got a jacket?" Was Thomas' reply.

"Of course! See you!"

"Stay safe!"

I closed the door, pulling my coat tighter as my breath steamed.

Snow drifted down, landing softly on the ground and I smiled as I stuck my hand out, catching flakes.

I walked briskly and quickly, enjoying the cold air, heading for a coffee shop.

My coffee fell to the ground, staining the white snow brown.

"Stop it," I said, backing away from the three boys.

The front boy laughed, walking closer.
He had a squashed nose with pale blue and ugly watery eyes.

His two companions weren't much better although their noses weren't as squashed. The one of the left had a few teeth missing and his eyes were a mud brown. The one on the right had freckles and his eyes were pond scum green.

"Leave me alone," I said, trying to sound tough. But my voice sounded weak in the alley ,even to me.

"We'll leave sweet heart. As soon as you give us your money," the lead boy sneered.

"I already told you I don't have anymore," I replied.

The lead boy turned to his companions.

"Hear that boys? The girl thinks we're stupid!" He turned back to me sneering," Do you know who I am?"

"Someone who doesn't know how to duck very well," I muttered, courage momentarily filling my veins.

The lead boy narrowed his eyes and took another step towards me.

My back brushed the wall and I realized I was cornered.

"What was that bitch?" He leered.

"I said you don't know how to duck," I said, my voice beginning to waver as my courage deserting me.

"That's it. I'm gonna teach you a less-"

"Back off."

The lead boy stopped and turned sharply towards the mouth of the alley where a shadow shrouded figure stood.

He seemed to recognize the figure as it got closer and he slouched.

"It's uh-it's you. I um- I never realized you were here," the lead boy stuttered.

The figure emeraged from the shadows, walking straight past the other three boys until he stood in front of me.

"Hey princess," he smirked.

"You know her?" The lead boy asked.

"Yeah. So move along."

"It's just we were- you know...talking to her and-" the lead boy said.

"She's mine Matt. You got it? You tell everyone she belongs to me and the next punk I see near her is gonna get his ass kicked," the boy said.

"Y-yeah," the lead boy said.

I made a move to get away from the boy, my heart fluttering. He stopped me with a smile and then he threw me over his shoulder, stunning me.

"Hey!" I protested, fighting against him.

He chuckled and turned to Matt.

"Things for finding her. But if I ever see you near her again you're dead. You hear me?" He said, glaring.

Matt nodded and shied away as the boy carried me away, stoping when we were quite far away from the alley and coffee shop.

"Put me down!" I protested, hitting his back with my fists.

"Oh calm down princess. You're gonna give me a head ache with all your whining," he grumbled, putting me down.

As soon as he put me down, I moved away from him, staying as far away as possible.

"Oh c'mon princess thats not how you thank your savior now is it?" He chuckled.

"It's how I thank the person who put me in the coma," I snapped.

The boy's eyes hardened.

"Now why'd you have to go and say that?" Percy said.
