"Stop! Stop it! You're hurting me!"
The memory changed.
"He hit you again, didn't he?" The dark eyed boy said, holding ice wrapped in a clothe to my bruised cheek.
I flinched and shook my head.
"I was just being silly. Ran into the cupboard, believe it or not," I said. I gave a shaky laugh and the boy sighed.
"You can't stay with him any longer. He's hurt you way too many times. Please, just stay away from him," the boy murmured, stroking my cheek.
I breathed in his scent and smiled.
"I'll stay away from him. After tonight. I promise," I said firmly.
"Amb! How'd you get out here? And who's jacket is that?" Thomas asked, curiosity in his eyes as he hugged me.
"I want to go," I whispered .
"Ok-ay," Thomas lead me back inside, the sound washing over me uncomfortably.
"Hey! Little Bitch!" A voice yelled.
"What the hell?" Thomas muttered, narrowing his eyes as Matt broke through the crowd, clutching his bloody nose.
"Where do you think you're going," Matt yelled, grabbing my arm.
My breath caught in my throat as anger flooded through my veins but before I could say anything, Thomas fist flew through the air and smashed into Matt.
He crumpled again, clutching his nose.
The crowd scattered from where he landed and the music stopped.
Everyone looked down at my Matt and then back up at me.
"You should learn to duck," I said coldly as Thomas glared down at him coldly.
The crowd laughed loudly.
"Hands off Jackass," Thomas growled as he lead me out.
"Percy can't protect you forever Little Bitch! One day he won't be here and then I'll have my fun!" Matt yelled, snickering.
"What?" Thomas' head snapped towards Matt as the music started up again, people beginning to dance.
I walked through the front door, onto the snow dusted lawn.
Gentle snow flakes floated down, landing on Percy's jacket.
"Amb what was he talking about in there?" Thomas asked, spinning me around.
"I don't want to talk about it," I whispered, looking at my feet.
"Amb..."
"I said I don't want to talk about it," I said, looking up sharply.
Thomas' eyes met mine, something familiar flashing through it.
"Ok Amb," he said, draping his arm over my shoulder as we walked away,"We can forget this night ever happened."
I nodded.
Forget tonight? Not until I get answers.
