Barry POV

Her hands were shaking. I noticed, as we sat in the little coffee table in her apartment, her gaze was lost into the dawn and she seemed impassive, desperate and absolutely drained. Kara Danvers, hadn't slept, eaten just because she needed to and got up from bed because the desire to find her sister was bigger than her.

Her nails were bitten and the dark circles under her eyes were prominent.

"You're in bad shape, Kara." I told her, but she responded with the same remark she always did:

"I'm fine. I just need to find her." Her voice wandered off and I took her shaking hands on mine. I wondered if Alex would ever be found...Kara and I have been searching frantically every street, warehouse and house on National City, but still, her sister was nowhere to be found. Nowhere.

"Kara, you need to be prepared ok?" Wrong choice of words. She smacks her hands on top of the table and brakes it. I stand up, startled and look at her, barely recognizing the anger-driven Kara in front of me.

"I'm not losing everyone! Not again!" She shouts and right then, someone knocks on the door.

"Come in!" I croak and James Olsen, presents himself, with a bag of, I believe, donuts. His smile disappears when he realizes that that table didn't brake by itself and looks at Kara apologetically.

Kara sighs. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." She mutters as she shakes her head. James sets the food on the table and walks up to us in silence.

"I just need to find her. I need Alex." She breathes out and sits down again, hugging her knees to her chest. Olsen throws a pity look at me and we remain silent for a minute, he better not open his mouth yet again to tell Kara her sister's dead. He, allegedly saw it happen. I think he just hit his head pretty hard.

My phones suddenly rings and I take it out from my pocket, adjusting the inter dimensional device Winn gave me to communicate with my Earth.

"You have to go." Kara concludes and throws a little smile, I nod as I read my reminder entitled: 'Dinner with Iris.' But I can tell that she wants me to stay, it's like she's begging me, soundlessly.

I place a kiss on her forehead "Yeah." I whisper. A lone tear rolls down her cheeks and I whip it with my thumb.

"Go." She tells me and even though I really, really don't want to, she insists, giving me the speech of: 'It's your family' again. I take a deep breath and try to smile at her, before I leave.

---

"Hey." Iris greets me with a blue silky dress on the door as I lean in close to her with a bouquet of flowers in my hand, planting a small kiss on her lips. She smiles and I try hard not to compare her's with Kara's hands as she entwines her fingers with mine.

"Hey." I greet back with a smirk. The light of the porch, makes her look specifically stunning. I extend my hand to her and she gladly, takes it with a flirty smile.

After we arrive to the restaurant and order food, I seem reluctant to tell her everything that happened, while I was gone. she, however, remains silent, occasionally smiling at me, and nodding in agreement.

"So yeah, we ummm...fought this guy with this big ass exo-suit called Lex Luther, he almost killed Kara and me but we made it out. Wouldn't have without Kara, though. " I finish talking and she take another bite from her dessert. I'm tired of being the only one in the conversation.

"Well, aren't you going to tell me, what you were up to?" I ask her hoping to make her talk. I sip a bit from my champagne knowing that my metabolism will burn right through it and crossing my fingers that for some miracle it won't, since being the only one talking can be depressing.
