Day and Night

Chapter 9

After getting blinded, Jesse uncovers her eyes and blinks so her eyes can adjust to the bright light. She had never seen a light this bright before. She slowly walks up to her balcony. Before looking at what the bird had dropped, she reaches her hand out and lets the heat touch her skin. She does not back up but she does not let the rest of her body go into the heat sun. Her eyes look at the blue sky and the white clouds. Each cloud was like white floating cotton candy and the sky was carrying them around like a current in a river. "Wow... So pretty." Jesse says to herself but then her eyes look down at the letter the little bird dropped. A piece of paper that is white as snow has little scribbles on it that is black as coal. Jesse picks it up and starts to read the paper.

After shoving the letter in her pocket, Jesse sneaks out of the castle and down to a medium sized house in the night kingdoms village. Knowing the door would be locked, she sneaks in through the window and walks to a specific room. She opens the door and sees her friend, Olivia, sleeping peacefully. Jesse sits on the edge of the bed and pokes her. "Olivia... Olivia. Olivia!" She starts shaking her friend. "Go away... I'm busy making out with Axel." Olivia groans and Jesse breaks into giggles. "Hehehe. Anyways, Olivia, I know it's bright out but I need you." Jesse says and Olivia stuffs her head under her pillow. "Go away..." She says, her voice muffled. "It's about a boy~" Jesse says and Olivia instantly sits up. "Tell. Me. Everything."

Lukas sits with his friends, holding his hands in his pockets. Aiden and Gil are watching him while Maya massages his shoulders. "If I am your queen, I would do this for you every night." She says and Lukas sighs. "Give it up, Maya." Aiden grabs Maya's arms. "Yeah. He already said he has his own queen. Besides, this girl probably has seen his bed and stuff, if you know what I mean." Gil says, with a smug look on his face. Lukas' face goes pure red. He could not say a single thing. "Y'know, I think Gil is right." Aiden laughs and Lukas blushes more, wanting to cover his face and wanting to just disappear. Soon, he stands up and pulls his hands out of his pockets. "Where are YOU going?" Maya asks and Lukas looks at Aiden and Gil. "Anyone wanna help me with my target practice?"
