"What? What's 'it', Jesse?" Lukas grabs Jesses shoulders. "Lukas, thats it!" Jesse says before sprinting away to the castle. Lukas just stands there, completely clueless before following her. Everyone else goes back to their homes, thinking about what the night kingdom is like. King Sean and Queen Solar start to go back to the castle. Jesse starts to pack up a bag, as quick as she can. As she reaches a cloak that was at the edge of her bed, someone else grabs it. Jesse looks up and sees Lukas.
"Jesse, what is 'it?'"
"I know a way to defeat the night kingdom. A way to protect all of u... You guys."
"Well, mind telling me?"
"There is a spell book in the night kingdom library. It can help protect the day kingdom— the spells I mean. Not the book." Lukas looks at Jesse as she says that and chuckles. Jesse blushes slightly, "Its not funny." His chuckling stops.
"Wait... that means you... Have to go back."
"Yeah, and?"
"Jesse, I refuse to let you go back! You were nearly killed last time!"
"Lukas..."
"No, Jesse! You aren't going!"
"If I don't then the day kingdom will die! Do you want that?!"
"If you die there, we won't survive anyways!"
"...Lukas, I have no choice."
"UGH!" Lukas storms off, after throwing the cloak to the ground. Jesse looks down. Tears are welling up in her eyes, 'great... How many MORE people are you gonna piss off, Jesse?!' She asks herself in her thoughts then she stands up and grabs the cloak.
Lukas storms out of Jesses room, angrily. He couldn't understand why Jesse felt she had to go back. As he starts stomping to his room, he runs into his mom. "Mom?" Lukas looks up at Queen Solar. "Lukas, your father and I heard the whole conversation and as much as I hate to say it, it might be best if she gets that book. It would really help us." Queen Solar looks down at her son and he crosses his arms. "She could wind up dead... And if that book doesn't help, then what? What will we do then?" He looks down and Queen Solar sighs, deeply. "Lukas, I won't tell you what to do. All I want if for you and the night kingdom to be safe. You can go with Jesse if it makes you feel better, but if you really don't think the book will help, then stay here... Whatever choice you make, I know you'll do the right thing." She kisses the top of his head before heading off to bed. When Queen Solar leaves, Jesse leaves her room. Lukas looks at her, "Jesse, I..." He grabs her arm. Jesse just pulls away and looks down, "Nothing you can say will stop me." She looks at her feet. Lukas grabs her and says, "I know that." He softly kisses her but she just pulls away, sadly. Feeling hurt, Lukas watches Jesse and she walks out of the castle then he goes to his room but he is unable to rest. All his mind things is 'please let Jesse be alright...'
