Chapter 34

As Jesse runs around the corner, Lukas follows behind her and so does King Sean. Lukas and King Sean stop however when they see Jesse staring at a man. King Sean and Jesse both recognize him, "I took us to the night kingdom but t-this should be impossible. My daddy is dead." She looks at King Sean. "Yes, you took up to the night kingdom but you took us back twenty years ago or so." The king says before reaching out to her. Jesse backs up then looks back at the sight of her father, once more. "Oh daddy... If only we knew that you would be killed early that morning... Luna could have protected you.. We could have been a family and... and..." Jesse looks down, biting her lip and blinking back tears. Lukas looks at his father then at Jesse, "Jesse, sweet heart, I know how hard this must be for you" He grabs her arm and pulls her into a hug, "but I need to know, how did your father die?" Lukas looks at Jesses dad then he sees the toddler Jesse run up to him.

"Daddy! Daddy!" The young Jesse grins while holding a doll.
The tall, light brunette haired man, looks down at her, "Hey babygirl." He says before kneeling down.
"Uppy!" Younger Jesse raises her arms. As her father picks her up, Luna walks over. She starts to talk to Jesse's father.

Lukas watches, a smile on his face, then he looks down at Jesse. She had started sobbing into his shirt. Lukas holds her and kisses her head, "It's okay, Jesse... I know it hurts." He slowly pulls away so they can look at each other. "I couldn't t-tell you if I wanted too... I was so young when it happened that I-I don't remember." She turns to look at her father but he is already gone. "Oh no.." she sprints off toward the castle. Lukas attempts to grab her arm, but he fails. "Jesse, wait up!"

"Jesse, stay here, please." Jesse's father places the young, innocent Jesse behind black pillar. Young Jesse looks up at him, "Daddy..?" She grabs his hand with her small hands. He looks down at her before kissing her head. "I love you, my little one. Stay strong, for me." Jesse stands where young Jesse is hiding and watches her father. "You already hurt my family! I won't let you hurt anyone else! And I will do anything to protect them!" Jesse's father says as he stands by a torch. He grabs the torch and holds it up. An evil laughter is heard then Jesse's father gets struck by magic. The younger Jesse, watches in horror, along side the older Jesse. "NO!" Jesse puts her hands on her head and bites her lip. His body falls limp, onto the cold floor. Young Jesse comes out of her spot and runs to the body. "Daddy? D-daddy?" The young toddle blinks backs tears. "Daddy... Daddy..." Its all she could say. Luna walks in, "Jesse, Derick an— Oh my word!" She freezes up as she sees the body. Jesse falls to her knees, sobbing. The white light surrounds her, King Sean and Lukas. Jesse keeps sobbing, until the while light teleports them all away, but instead of ending up in the corridor or the dark room, they end up outside of the day kingdom. King Sean stands up and looks around, "Well, that sure was something." He says and Lukas rubs his eyes as they adjust to the day, "It sure was. Jesse, are you okay?" He looks around, trying to find her but he can't. "Jesse? This isn't funny." He looks around one more time before seeing Jesse running away, covering her face. "Jesse!" He calls out to her and goes to follow her. King sean grabs his arm, "Give her time, my boy." Lukas looks up at him, "What? Why? The love of my life needs me!" He tries to pull away. "Lukas, She just watched her father die for a second time in her life. Give her some space."
