Day and Night

Chapter 48

Jesse looks at Lukas reaches out to him. Lukas looks at her with cold, lifeless purple eyes. "Lukas, look at me. Talk to me, love." She looks at him and everyone gets quiet. Jesse hopes Lukas could overpower Luna but she lost that hope when Lukas says, "Why would I love a loser like you." Jesse didn't feel hurt from Lukas but she felt hurt from Luna. "Wow, thanks." Jesse watches Lukas turn to walk out but she stops him before he can even take a step. Lukas sighs, "Jessica, you can still come back. You and I are special. We still have a lot of work to do." Jesse crosses her arms and looks at Lukas as she talks to Luna. "You disown me, blame me and torture my mind and yet you tell me I can come back?! Yeah right. And this 'work'... You can still change your plans about the day kingdom. It's not to late." "..." "When will this end Luna?" "WHEN EVERY DAY IS DEAD!" Everyone in the ball room gasps as Lukas says that, mainly because no one knows Luna is controlling him. Jesse takes a deep breathe.

"Fine...! We're damaged, really damaged.. But that does not make us wise. We're not special, we're not different... You don't choose who lives or dies." Jesse softly sings and everyone looks at her. Lukas looks at her with a somewhat, angry expression because of Luna. Then she says something toward Lukas. "Let's be normal, see bad movies sneak a beer and watch tv... We'll bake brownies or go bowling."  She smiles as his eyes soften but then turn a much darker purple and Jesse tears up. "Don't you want a life with me?!" Tears roll down her cheeks as she sings. "Can't we be who we wanna be? That's all I want to do. If you could let me in. I could be good with you. People hurt us..." "Or they vanish" It sounds like Luna was saying that about her dead husband. "And you're right, that really blows. But we let go—" "Take a deep breath." It sounds like Lukas said that. Luna could never say that. "Then go buy some summer clothes
We'll go camping—" "Play some poker" "And we'll eat some chili fries... Gazing in the starlight," Jesse grabs Lukas' arms. "Maybe dancing..." Lukas blinks as his eyes go normal. His hands are on Jesse's waist. "Don't stop looking in my eyes!" Jesse sings and the band starts playing music. "Your eyes!" Lukas gets close to Jesse.

"Can't we be who we wanna be... Is that so hard to do? If you could let me in, I could be good with you" Jesse puts her hand over Lukas' heart and he smiles before putting his hand over hers. "Let us be who we wanna be! If we still got the right!" They both sing then Jesse looks at him and smiles, "So what's it gonna be? I wanna be with you!" Her cheeks start turning red. Lukas smiles and spins her around, "I wanna be with you—" He holds her close when she faces him. "Wanna be with you—" "Tonight" They both sing then the music softens. They softly and quickly kiss each other.

"Yeah we're damaged." Jesse bites her lip. "Badly damaged." Lukas puts a hand on Jesse's face. "But your love's too good to lose." They both sing. A single tear rolls down Jesse's right cheek and Lukas wipes it with his thumb.
"Hold me tighter" Jesse softly sings and Lukas hugs Jesse's tightly.
"Even closer." Jesse buries her face into her neck and holds back tears.
"I'll stay if I'm what you choose..." Jesse sings softly, referring to her staying in the day kingdom.
"Can we be who we wanna be?" Lukas pulls away from Jesse and blushes while his eyes are closed.
"If I am what you choose..." Jesse looks down then Lukas opens his eyes and looks at her. He puts his left hand under her chin.
"If we've still got the right." He says as he pulls something out of his suit pocket with his right hand.
"'Cause you're the one I choose." Jesse sings and smiles then tears up with tears of joy when she sees their engagement rings.
"You're the one I choose." Lukas sings as he slips her ring on her left ring finger then he puts on his own engagement right.
"You're the one I choose." They both slowly lean in before locking lips.

Soon after breaking the kiss, everyone cheers but Jesse ignores them and looks at Lukas. Purple smoke lingers at his feet before slowly floating away. Jesse smiles at Lukas and he kisses her head, "So, since I chose you, are you gonna stay in the day kingdom?" He asks and Jesse smiles, "Yes, I'm staying home." King Sean and Queen Solar walk over then all four of them begin talking about what their next move is. When King Sean asks if Jesse and Lukas has a weapon on them, they both look at each other. Jesse gulps, "I left mine in our room." "I did too! ...oops.."

Luna walks around, her head is pounding from controlling Lukas. She could not believe what she had just seen. The Day Kingdom, Happy and dancing. Jesse with them, especially when she heard Jesse was at the nature kingdom. She takes a deep breathe as Shira walks in. "Your majesty, the kingdom is ready. We are just waiting for your move." Luna takes a deep breathe, "Wait outside. And be prepared when the sky is as red as blood." Luna pulls her dark hair into a bun. "Yes your majesty." Shira says with a nervous then she walks out. Luna walks over to a balcony and closes her eyes. She takes a deep breathe, opens her eyes and looks up at the skies.

"Now the hour has come at last... The soft and fading light, has crossed the west horizon and has bidden us goodnight... and what a lovely night it is to walk a moonlit field, to see the softer shades that are by starlight now revealed." Luna looks up at the full moon. It is bright and glowing.
"So why is it that now, when all is quiet and at rest
when candles glow and all the world is at its very best...The people of the kingdoms should lock themselves away to shun the moon and wait instead for the bright and sunny day?" Luna looks over at the day kingdom. Once, a long time ago she wanted to unite with the days but then... the incident happened but some part of her probably wanted peace.
"Am I so wrong to wish that they would see things like I do? And am I so wrong to think that they might love me too? Why shouldn't they adore me? Is it not within my right? I'll not be overshadowed! Mine is not the lesser light! I've waited long enough now... For them all to come around and though the Sun may plead and threaten, the moon will stand her ground...!" Tears start to roll down her cheeks as she closes her eyes and raises both her hands. A black orb shoots out of both her palms and shoots into the moon. The sky slowly starts to turn blood red then Luna opens her eyes. The whites of her eyes are now black and her eyes, which are normally light purple are now dark purple.

"See, the Moon is rising. She has come to claim the heavens for her own!" The moon goes directly to the middle of the sky for all to see. "And all will know the wonders of my dark and jeweled sky! When all the world is wrapped in an eternal lullaby!
So say goodnight to this, the final setting of the sun, Tomorrow dawns in darkness; The nighttime has begun!!!" Shira looks at Petra, Axel, Olivia, Clementine and Jadie when the sky turns blood red but none of them say anything but just by the look on their faces, you could tell they were thinking, "Queen Luna losing it." Luna walks out, in full armor, a sword on her hip and a bow on her back. "Attention nights, we attack the Day Kingdom now! Forward march!" Each night heads for the day kingdom, thinking it would be easy to defeat them but little do they know... The days are ready.

Note: I had to change/take out certain lyrics because they didn't make sense with the plot or it just didn't make sense with what was going on. Okay? Okay. And also, thank you Fionna_Cool_Girl for helping with the first part of the chapter.
