Jesse looks down at the little golden haired boy. "James, I need you to stay here. I'll check it out." She takes a step off of the slippery rock she was sitting upon and onto the damp grass. James grabs her hand. "N-No! I don't want it to hurt me...!" The young boy cries. Jesse takes a deep breathe. "Alright, but you have to promise to stay behind me at all times, got it?" She looks down at James. He nods, "Got it" He gets behind her and takes a step back, just in case. They both look down the empty path. "Where did you see the creature?" She looks down at the young golden haired boy. "It was right there! Where is it..?" He whines and whimpers.
Jesse looks down the path then her eyes scan around the area. Three people watch Jesse from inside, not knowing if they should trust her. Liz, Zephyr, and Hails. James mother stands behind them, panicking. "What if she hurts my son?! I need me son!" She bites her lip and tries to look out the window. Liz takes off her brown fingerless gloves and fixes her blonde bangs. "Jenny, Your son is fine. In fact, he is staying rather close to that girl." Liz looks out the window. Zephyr and Hails look at each other. Zephyr pulls her blue hair into a ponytail and Hails quickly looks back in Jesse's direction. "Zephyr, Jenny, Liz. That is gone and so is James." Jenny gasps. "WHAT?!" Jenny pushes Liz, Hails and Zephyr out of the way. She goes to the window and scans the streets. She could see the prince as his friends looking down the street at something. Jenny looks there and what she sees next shocks her.
"Hey, stop pushing!" Maya says as she pushes Aiden out of the way. "You say no pushing and yet you just pushed Aiden!" Gil crosses his arms. "Because I wanna see! What if Jesse gets hurt?!" Maya asks, in a high pitched voice. "Thats what I wanna know!" Aiden looks at Maya. "Why do you care?! You were the one that separated Lukas and Jesse, Aiden!" Maya growls. "I did it so you and Lukas could date, Ma--" "EVERYONE SHUT UP!" Lukas shouts and Maya and Aiden glare at each other as he and Gil look out the window. Lukas watches as Jesse holds James behind her. James looks up at Jesse. "What is that creature?" He asks while fear starts to fill his voice and body. They both look at a black creature and it looks back at them. "James, stay there" Jesse pulls away from the young boy and he gulps. "But Jess--" "Stay put. It will be okay." She takes slow, careful steps toward the creature and it growls at her. "Woah-woah... It's okay," She says and the creature stops as he hears her voice, "It's okay boy. Don't be scared." She reaches her hand out to the creature. It looks her in the eyes as she puts her hand on its muzzle. He slowly bows his head. Jesse breathes and puts her head on his. "I missed you too bud" James slowly walks up to Jesse as she makes a connection with her old friend, her night terror.
