I woke up with the warm sunlight on my face and two pairs of arms around my waist. I look behind me and saw Ben lying next to me. I didn't want to get up because I had to meet my parents and brother today. I felt Ben moving and turned around, still in his arms.
He opens his eyes slowly and looked at me.
"Good morning."He said in his raspy morning voice.
"Good morning. I need to get dressed. My parents and brother are coming today." I said.
"Yeah, I need to get to my room before they think I ran away." I let out a chuckle when he said that.
"Plus, my family are coming too." He was still holding me so that I couldn't get out of bed.
"Uhm, Ben. You need to let me go first." He looked at his arm, and I swear his cheek turn pink. Is he blushing?
"Haha, Uhm, yeah." He let go of me, and I stepped out of my bed.
He got up and walked out of the room, saying goodbye. I got dressed and sit on my bed, looking at the wall in front of me.
I don't want to see my parents. All they ever did was judging me. Saying I wasn't good enough in anything.
The only person who ever supports me was my brother. I hear a knock on my door and stood up.
"Come in," I said, walking to the door.
Dr. Ryan came in with her clipboard.
"Lena, your parents are here with your brother." I sit on my bed and look down.
"Do I have to see them?"
She looks up from her clipboard and sits next to me.
"I know they never supported you, and I know how they are, but you have to show them that you're worth it." She holds my hand, giving me a small smile.
I nodded, and we stood up, walking out of my room to the social space. I was nervous when we walk into the hall. I know my parents are going to hate me. They are not such friendly people. I walk through the door and saw the other kids with their families.
There was Paige with her grandparents laughing. Sarah with a girl who is older than her. I think it's her big sister, Piper, with a man, maybe her dad. Then I saw Ben with his dad and sister al with a smile on their faces. I look around and saw my brother sitting at a table waiting for me.
"Go, Lena, it's just your brother you parents are coming later. I need to talk to them first." Dr. Ryan said, pushing me forwards.
I walk past everyone to the table, which was right next to Ben's table. Great, when my parents come and make a scene, he can see it from the front row.
My brother was on his phone texting someone when I reach the table. I clear my throat, and he looked up.
"Lena." He stood up and hugged me, not letting me go for a while.
