He pulls me closer to his chest, resting his head on mine. I cry my eyes out, letting everything go.
"Ssh, it's gone be okay." Ben's voice was soft, trying to comfort me. Someone walked over to us, taking a seat next to me. I look up from Ben's chest, still holding him, and saw Paige sitting there.
She wrapped her arms around me and hugged me too, resting her head on my shoulder. It feels like we sat there for hours, but it was a view minutes before Dr. Ryan came.
"Lena, Ben, you can go to your room if you want to. Everyone is gone. Paige, we have an appointment ."
We pull apart, looking up to her.
"Yeah, I'm coming." She looked at me and wiped away a tear that runs down my cheek, giving me a small smile. Dr. Ryan walks away with Paige following her leaving Ben and me alone.
"Come." I look to my side and saw Ben standing next to me, taking my hand.
He pulls me up, leading me through the room.
"Where are we going?" I asked him when he passed my room and his.
"To the roof, so we can be alone." He replies, looking at me with a small smile. I nodded my head, letting him take me to the roof. We walk up the stairs to the top, looking back a few times as if nobody was following us.
When we reach the roof, I could feel the sun shining on my face closing my eyes for a minute. My parents never understood me. They lived a life full of parties, going to the club with their snob friends. They always drag my brother with them and me. I open my eyes and saw Ben standing by the edge, looking at the city in the distance.
If my parents knew that Ben and Paige are my friends, they would be made. They would forbid me to see them ever again. I'm only allowed to be friends with kids whose families are just like mine, so all the kids from the club. But I had other friends not from the club without them knowing it. Only Dylan know that because he had other friends as well.
I walk to Ben, standing next to him on edge. He was still looking at the city while he was lost in his mind.
"Why did you bring me here?" He looked at me when he hears my voice.
"Because I don't want you to be alone after what your parents did to you." I sight and sit down with my legs over the edge. He's right. I don't want to be alone after that, and I'm glad he saw it.
He sits down next to me, looking over the edge.
"Why are your parents like that. I'm mean, you're so different." I look at the city and the tree around the mental facility.
Thinking about my parents and how mean they are.
"They are wealthy, which I hate. I don't know why they are so mean to everyone who isn't. " I look back at him and saw that he looked at me.
