When it was midday and the rain had dried, Willow left the house. Cosmo was still wandering around near the house. The forest remained unexplored.
"Hello!" Willow yelled. Cosmo ran towards him.
"Good morning."
"Hi."
"It's so great here. Come on, I'll show you," Cosmo took Willow's hand.
"Have you gone to the forest without me?"
"No, not to the forest. Around it."
"Let's go to the forest, then. I wanna go there."
"Alright," Cosmo took a step from the porch and ran forward.
Among the trees, Laora seemed even more undisturbed. The sunlight mixed with the shade of the trees, enchanting. Cosmo was in a good, relaxed mood for a while.
"How could they think that there was anything suspicious here?" he asked. "If anything, it's suspiciously beautiful."
"And mysterious, too. I'm sure there are some secrets."
"Maybe," he shrugged as he took Willow's hand. He focused his eyes on the patch of darkness around them as he leaned against a tree.
Suddenly something flashed by. Something yellow. It was obviously affected by the shade; it couldn't be light. Quickly, it passed a tree and hid in the dark.
It was so fast, he barely noticed anything.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Cosmo replied, more interested in his own thoughts than in the conversation.
"That's what you always tell me."
"I saw something in the dark. But it couldn't have been real. Must've been my own imagination."
"You sure?"
"Positive. It's not there anymore. It disappeared as quickly as it came. Plus, it was barely even noticeable. Maybe it was the sunlight playing."
"Maybe there is something. You never know."
"Trust me, Willow, there's nothing. And anyway, it's stupid talking about it. I saw something that wasn't there, that's all."
"Then there must be something wrong with you."
"Everyone sees this. We shouldn't be talking about this for so long. Or did you see it too?"
Willow shook his head. Cosmo got up from the tree and kept walking. Nobody mentioned the vision again, and nobody remembered about it when they came home.
