The car approached quickly – not surprising for such a busy city, but strange for such a late time. The driver didn't say a word, for which everyone was grateful.

"I'm tired," Ivy moaned.

"Shouldn't have drunk that thing."

She laughed briefly. Cosmo moved his eyes to the driver, making sure he wasn't listening.

"I don't think there's time to sleep," he said, leaning back. "Have any cash for the hotel?"

"A miserable amount. Good enough for a night in some cheap hostel, but it's better to save that for now."

The road got a little bit bumpier, signifying that the landscape was wilder. A few detached homes showed up in the distance.

"Here," he called out, desperate to save a few coins. Ivy dug into her wallet.

"Thirty dollars, right?"

She took out a bunch of papers and opened the door, bucking it further. It slammed shut; the small town landscape surely didn't look promising.

"Well, what are we going to do now?" Ivy asked.

Cosmo felt someone else's hand slide into his. It was Willow; his body was pressed to Cosmo's.

"Keep walking," Cosmo replied with the first thing that he came up with.

The town couldn't be more different from Neva. Everybody was already asleep, and there was no light coming from windows. Not only were they forced to walk in complete darkness, but it also gave out a worrying vibe. They were completely alone.

"Maybe driving further was a better idea? We have enough money," Ivy insisted.

"It's too late now."

"We won't need money in the wild, just strength. And Laora is getting close."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Cosmo changed the direction of his walk, moving towards the mountains. "This way is faster. Let's go."

"Are you sure we won't be killed?" Willow asked.

"We won't," Cosmo wasn't sure himself, but he had to support his siblings somehow. They had to do that.

The town soon ended. The grass began, at first short, then almost reaching his hips. Some of it made slashes on his skin, but there were no cuts. Ivy took long steps, lifting her legs high and trying to avoid hitting any piece of grass, quite unsuccessfully.
