Part twenty-four: Fedora Man

Tokyo City Central Mall

Batgirl threw a gold batarang towards the fedora man, successfully tipping his fedora off of his face. She drew her katana and charged at him, full speed. The man obviously had Kung Fu lessons because he blocked her swotd with both hands crossed together.

"Gotta do better than that," he said in a thick American voice. Batgirl rolled her eyes and flicked her sword, plunging the sharp part to his skin. He started bleeding and she took the advantage while he was distracted. She swiped at his feet, making him fall down to his butt.

"Robin," she said using her comm. "Anytime now."

Ad if on cue, Robin emerged from the shadows with handcuffs and walked towards the fedora man. He cuffed his hands behind him, not listening to a word the man says.

"You two are amateurs," he said. "I'm just buying time."

"You mean buying time for them?" Batgirl asked, pointing her thumb to the bank where three masked men were tied in Batgirl's lines.

"Yeah, I don't think we're amateurs." Robin said with a small smirk. Fedora man secretly grabbed the pocket knife on his pocket and head butted Robin.

"Agh!" He groaned, flipping back. The fedora man stood up, jumping. He turned around and charged at Batgirl with his back facing her. Not noticinf the knife, she easily grabbed his shoulders.

"What the......" she trailed off when she felt the shapr pain on her leg. "Why is it always my leg!?"

"Not just buy time," he said. "Make you weak, too."

The fedora man laughed, watching as the cops started entering the mall. Robin grabbed Batgirl and grappled them away from the scene, leaving the cops to deal with them. Once they were out of the mall, Robin set her down by the edge of a different building.

"Let's get that treated." He said, looking at the deep cut on her leg.

"Get our stuff first, Damian." She said.

"Bu--"

"Now."

"Are you gonna be fine on your own?" He asked worriedly, looking at the big cut. She nodded with a pained smile and pushed his arm weakly.

"I'm not Batgirl for nothing." She said, her voice breaking. Robin sighed, kissing her forehead.

"You better be safe when I get back." He muttered before grappling back inside the mall.

|Why is it that my leg always get hurt? Don't they want something new and try breaking my arm or shoot a bullet to my stomach? That would be really great. Wait a minute, did he just kiss my forehead!?|

"Ow!" Kara winced as Damian gently wrap the bandage around her leg. He muttered a sorry and proceeded on bandaging her wound.

"My leg must have bad luck." She muttered, falling on Damian's bed. Damian lifted his hoodie sleeves and stood up.

"It should heal in a few days. We'll be out of Tokyo by the time it heals." He said, sitting down beside her. Kara rested her hands on her black high-waist shorts.

"And I'm back to being useless." She sighed, closing her eyes. Damian looked down at her and tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear.

"You can still help," he said. "With Barbara, I mean."

"No," Kara said, opening her eyes. "She'll help out in the field and I'll play Oracle in the mean time."

Damian stared down at her with one eyebrow lifted, wondering what she meant by Barbara heading out to fight in the field.

"Are you insane?" He asked.

"No, I'm a genius." She said, standing up from her position. She walked towards the shopping bags and grabbed a vial filled with blue liquid.

"What's that?" He asked, eyeing the strange formula.

"I finished the formula earlier back at the lobby and asked one of the best scientists in Japan to make it for me. It was a success." She replied.

|I did that earlier he went to grab our things back in the mall. It turns out, the building we landed on was a science laboratory.|

"Is it even safe?" He asked cautiously, not trusting the liquid. Kara rolled her eyes, nodding at him.

"Yes, it is," she said. "I watched them make it."

"When will you tell her?"

"The second they come back here."

And as if on cue, the hotel door opened and Timothy Jackson Drake entered.

"You didn't do things you'll regret, right?" He asked with wide eyes.

"NO!"
