Part thirty-five: Bring A Date

Gotham Academy

Kara walked inside the academy without Damian. She just got a text from him that he's going to run a little late because of something important and told her to go without him. Kara can see guys asking girls to the dance and she was glad because they all seem to be happy. Even Riley and the others were being asked to the dance.

Oh, Riley. Please, don't do this to me.

Just when she was about to go inside her classroom, a bunch of guys ran towards her with chocolates and flowers.

"Kara! Can you go to the dance with me!?" They all asked at the same time.

She gulped, nervously fixing her uniform. She smiled kindly at them, shaking her head.

"Sorry, guys. But I can't." She said with an apologetic smile, hoping that they would understand.

"That's alright," they all said. "But you can keep these flowers and chocolates! Have a good day, Kara! I hope your injury gets well!"

Okay, first of all, that was weird. Second, I can't stand their sad faces when they heard my answer, but I was glad they didn't take it that hard.

Kara walked in her classroom with a basket full of chocolates and flowers. There were red and pink cards in them, too. Probably love letters or poems for her. She sighed, sitting down on her seat. She put her bag and the basket under her table and looked down at her sling, calmly waiting for Damian or the teacher.

"Homecoming is next week! Can you believe it!?"

"I know, right!? Tyler asked me!"

"Oh my gosh, Collin asked me to the dance!"

Kara rolled her eyes, not appreciating the loud squeals and giggled the girls were making. She took her phone out and took pictures of the basket full of flowers and chocolates.

"Did you hear? Kara's actually KMG!"

"Yeah! I actually checked the resemblance and guess what? It is her!"

"Tiffany must be feeling so stupid right now."

"I know, right? She bullied a model."

"Model?"

"Haven't you heard? Danielle Formeyer came here a few days ago and personally asked her to be her model!"

"No way!"

Kara chuckled, setting the basket back down under the table. Someone suddenly sat beside her and she turned to look who it was. No, it wasn't Damian. In fact, it was one of the football team. Mark Northwest, captain of football and a total player.

"Uhm, sorry, but that spot was taken." She said.

Mark chuckled, combing his hair back.

"No one was sitting. The name's Mark, Mark Northwest. Wanna come to homecoming with me?" He asked.

He pulled out a red box shaped into a heart and opened it. Different flavors of chocolate was inside. It almost made Kara's mouth water, but she remembered that she already tasted those.

"Sorry, but I can't." She said.

"Why?"

"I just....don't want to go to homecoming with you."

"So you can go with that Wayne kid?"

"Who said that?"

"You obviously caught his eyes. You caught lots of eyes here."

"Oh,"

"Anyway, keep this. I hope your arm gets better Kara."

"Thanks, Mark."

Mark got up and walked outside of the classroom to his original class. Kara sighed, leaning back against her chair.

This is going to be a very long day.

Soon enough, Damian walked inside. Kara doesn't know how he did it, but he actually looked even more handsome today. His uniform was neat, too neat for Damian. And his hair was still a bit messy, but it was obviously combed. His cologne was more evident now and every girl on the room (except for Kara) inhaled his scent.

Damian smiled when he saw Kara looking at him. He ignored the drooling girls around him and walked towards the empty seat beside her.

"I'm sorry I can't walk you, it was urgent." He said.

He took a seat beside Kara and dropped his bag under his table. She smiled, nodding her head at the young Wayne.

"It's fine," she said. "At least now, you remember telling me to go instead of waiting for you under the sun."

Damian chuckled, resting his arms on his table. He looked at Kara, nervously thinking what she would say about his unvoiced question. He kept on repeating the question in his head, not wanting to jumble them all up.

"Can you come over later at the manor?" He asked.

"Well, sure. But, why?" She asked back.

"It's a surprise." Damian smirked.

I don't like that smirk. I don't like it at all. Is this boy planning on something? I better ask Dick before going to the manor later. Maybe Jason or Tim. I don't care, I just have to know what's in the manor before I go there.

"Okay, then."
