Part three: A Sister Will Do Anything

Wayne Tech Enterprises

I wasn't sure why, but Oracle asked me to meet me at the top of Wayne Tech on my Batgirl uniform.

Kara stood in the middle of the roof top of Wayne Tech on her Batgirl uniform which is black and gold. Her black hair flowed freely with the wind. She patiently waited for her big sister to arrive since she knew that Barbara can be a little slower than before, before she was paralyzed.

All that was in my mind right now was Damian trying to make me crack. It was very irritating.

Soon enough, the elevator doors opened and revealed Barbara Gordon on her wheel chair. Her glasses were hanging on the collar of her shirt and her hands were gripping the wheels on her wheel chair. Batgirl smiled lightly and walked towards her, helping her get out of the elevator.

She sat in front of Barbara who was still on her wheel chair when they were back in the middle of the building. The moon was shining above them and provided the light they needed with a little help from the lights installed on top of the building.

"So, what do you want me to do?" Batgirl asked, pulling one leg up to her chest and rest her chin on it. Barbara looked down at her and figured that she was born to wear that uniform with all her glory. It made Barbara proud and afraid, afraid that she might end up being like her, helpless and paralyzed.

"Batman needs you," she said. "He needs your help on this case about a new villain. He's calling every help he can get, and that included you."

I was confused. Why would Batman need me of all people? I mean, there's Red Robin and Nightwing, not to mention Oracle!

"I'm confused," Batgirl said, which made Barbara giggle. She patted Batgirl's head and smiled softly at her.

"It means, the Bat needs his daughter." She said and Batgirl scoffed.

"Just because I'm Batgirl doesn't mean I'm his daughter," she said, swatting Barbara's hand away. She stood up and went to the edge of the building. "Was that all, 'cause if it is then I should get going."

Barbara sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose, pushing her glasses up a bit. "You know, I already got over being Batgirl. Batman needs a new one and it's you." She said. Batgirl tilted her head to the left and formed her hands into fists.

I didn't really want to be Batgirl, it was Barbara's request for me to take the position. And since she's paralyzed, I did.

"If you just let me open the door that day, you would still be Batgirl. But you didn't and look what it got us into." Batgirl said, gritting her teeth. She didn't mean to sound rude or harsh, but all the stress was building up on her. Barbara felt the wave of stress radiating on Kara and frowned a bit. She understood why she's stressed, she was too.

They just don't get it. If they see life in my perspective, they'd act the same.

"I quit being Batgirl even before I opened that door."

"Come on, Kara. You can't just be alone forever. What happened to you? You were more free before, happier even. What made you fall?" Barbara asked. Batgirl looked at her from the corner of her eyes and Barbara saw the fear and sorrow in her eyes. That was the first time Barbara saw her sister show fear. She wasn't the type to let people see her sad side.

"Nothing," she said. "Things just change."

Barbara knew it was a lie, but she just let it slide. Maybe she needs some time to think about it and soon enough, she'll tell her big sister.

"Your birthday's in four months," she said with a small smile. "We can have--I don't know--a family bonding, perhaps?"

That suggestion made the spark of happiness back in Kara's eyes. The thought of acting normal with her family was like Kara in Wonderland.

"But," Barbara lifted a finger. "We won't have that bonding if we didn't solve the case before March 3. So, what do you say?"

Barbara knew she got Batgirl. They haven't been around each other ever since Barbara became Batgirl and that was so long ago. Kara longed for it. She turned around and put a hand on her hips, her cape swishing a bit.

"Deal," she said. "But, you and dad will have to treat me to every place I want to go."

That made Barbara laugh a bit. She didn't mind that. At least her sister's bubbly side is starting to go back. "Deal." She said and Batgirl smiled lightly.

"Well, when should I meet the family?" She asked and Barbara smirked. "In fifteen minutes."
