Part forty-seven: Orders
Wayne Tech
Batgirl and Robin stood on top of Wayne Tech with Ice, Poison Rose, and Black Blade.
"I'm starting to think that Wayne Tech's rooftop is our favorite rendezvous point." Batgirl whispered.
"Not mine, yours." Robin shrugged.
She rolled her eyes and walekd towards Black Blade who was talking to Poison Rose and Ice. She tapped her shoulder, gaining her attention.
"We talked to Batman about your problem with this "grandmaster" and would like to give you a shot on this one." She said.
Bruce was a little hard to persuade, but I got him to approve, with a little threatening.
"Right," Blade nodded. "We'll tell you everything about the new organization planning to take Gotham."
"Good,"
And that is how you easily get intel.
"Are you sure about this, Batgirl?" Oracle asked.
"For the one-millionth time, yes!" Batgirl huffed.
She sneaked inside the Slaughter castle, looking for any guards of villains left inside the building. She decided to go here on her own without any back-up at all. Robin and Oracle disapproved, but she still went in.
"Batgirl, get back here right now or I swear I'll go back to being an assassin and kill that grand master myself." Robin hissed.
Batgirl rolled her eyes and opened a secret entrance behind the "throne room" of the castle. She walked inside, her cape following her every move.
"Threatening, but not enough, Robin." She smirked.
"Fine, I'm going." He scoffed.
Back in the Batcave, Oracle watched as Robin stomped towards his cycle and roughly put his helmet on.
"You better come back with her safe and sound!" She yelled.
"Oh, I will." Robin growled.
He started the engine of his cycle and sped off the cave, faster than lightning.
I swear Damian can be so.....protective sometimes. Most of them are so strict, we once had a three-day fight over it.
"O, I found something." Batgirl muttered.
She pointed her flashlight to the metal table inside the secret room and walked over it. Beside the table is a bulletin board full of pins and threads and pictures. All of them were pictures of her and the Bat family. From the day Batman's parents died up to when they were back at Tokyo.
"Riley was right," she whispered. "We're targets."
"Batgirl, get out of the castle now." Robin said sternly.
Batgirl pressed her comm and pointed her flashlight to the computer, which was off. There are folders by the control panel. Walking over, she lifted one of the files and flipped it open.
"There's a computer, I can try looking for files in them and transfer the data to my USB." She said.
"No," Robin growled. "Out. Now."
Batgirl ignored him and opened the computer. The screen lit up blue and she calmly sat down on the office chair beside her, not noticing the shadow creeping up behind her.
"Crap," she muttered. "We need these."
"Batgirl, out." Robin hissed.
"Fine," she huffed. "As soon as I copy everything."
Robin huffed in irritation, taking a sharp left towards the Slaughter Castle, which was pretty clear from where he was. The moon reflected on the old architecture and it made him feel more scared for Batgirl.
"I got it," she said through the comm. "I'm heading back."
Robin drove faster and as soon as he reached the castle, he hopped off his cycle without even parking it and ran inside the castle.
Back in the secret room, Batgirl stood up from the office chair and went to shut the computer when she noticed an image of a buff guy reflecting through the screens. It went to grab her, but she ducked and kicked the office chair at him. He grunted, stumbling a few feet back. Batgirl quickly shut the computer, leaving the both of them in plain darkness.
"O, I'm turning my comm off. I'll be back." She whispered.
She pressed her ear piece and hid behind what she suspected as a desk. Turning her night vision on her cowl, she looked over the desk and saw the guy looking around the room. His eyes were glowing blue and that gave Batgirl the hint that he can see in the dark, too.
Okay, how do we exactly do this, Kara? I can see him, he can see me. That's not really an advantage if you ask me. Man, Robin's gonna be so mad.
Robin ran around the corridor, looking for the secret room Batgirl found earlier. He couldn't think straight. All that was on his mind was keepig her safe and sound in his arms, but he can't do that when she's in a castle probably full of traps.
He pulled his hood up, running past the pillars supported the upper floor of he castle. When he noticed the red curtains behind royal chairs, he knew that Batgirl's there. Pulling his sword out, he ran faster and went for the curtains.
But just before he could find the room, he heard someone dropping to the floor loudly and roughly. His heart beat faster, his hands shaking a bit. The secret door soon opened and he saw someone he never expected to see again.
