Chapter Thirty Four

"Matulog ka pa."

Bulong ni Louie saakin, nang makita niyang nakabukas ang mata ko. Nagigising talaga ako tuwing gabi dahil malamig masyado yung air-condition dito sa condo. He stood up to get the remote and turn it off.

"I don't want to." bulong ko pabalik nang bumalik siya sa kama. I faced him. We were a lot of inches away since my huge belly was in the way, but I've never felt close to him until now.

"Alis mo na bukas."

"I know." his hand took the strand of hair away from my face. I fought hard not to fall asleep and continue staring at his face but I couldn't.

"Are you really leaving?" bulong ko kay Louie habang nakayakap sakanya. We were in the backseat of Blue's car.

He kindly offered to drive us to the airport since his classes in college won't start for another month yet. Kasama rin namin si Stephanie even though their classes already started. Classes in Jaxavier started three weeks ago but since classes in New Zealand don't start until September, ngayon palang aalis si Louie. Eto na yung pinaka extend niya saakin dahil marami rin siyang aasikasuhin sa university niya.

"We're here." Stephanie announced as he looked back at us. We ate together at a restaurant for lunch before coming here. Kakatapos lang ng fourth monthsary namin ni Louie, I don't think I can let him go yet.

My arm was wrapped in his waist while his arm was around my shoulders as we go inside. He stopped to look at me and hold my face.

"Don't starve yourself. You know where I put your milk and vitamins. Ask Blue to go with you if you have a check up. I-timer mo yung ac so that you don't have to wake up in the middle of the night to turn it off. I won't be around to tell you you're still beautiful even when you're pregnant, so I'll say it now. You're very beautiful and you're gonna be a great mom so don't.... C'mon, Drey."

Tumigil siya sa pagsasalita nang humikbi ako. Niyakap niya ako nang mahigpit at hinalikan ang noo ko. I don't normally cry, but my hormones is messing my emotions.

"I'll miss you." bulong ko sakanya.

"You tell me that every night." the corner of his lips rose to form a smile. I pouted as he held my hands. "I'll be back for your birthday, remember? Two months, baby."

The date of my birthday and labor were three days apart. Sana nga magkalapit lang kami eh, para nandun na rin si Louie sa panganganak ko. I've been with him the whole time I was pregnant, it was only right to be with him when I welcome my baby girl to the world.

"Okay." mahina ko'ng sabi. He kept his smiled and leaned towards me for a kiss. It was quick but I felt every second of it.

"I love you." bulong niya sa tenga ko nang yakapin niya ako ulit.

"I love you, too." sagot ko nang pakawalan siya. Lumapit siya kay Blue para magpaalam na rin,

"Ikaw na yung mga mata ko rito, ha." sabi ni Louie at tinapik ang likod ni Blue. Yumakap rin siya kay Stephanie,

"Alagain talaga si Blue, torpe pa. Sana pag graduate ko, kayo na ha." sinamaan lang siya ng tingin ni Steph bago umalis.

"I'll see you soon." was the last thing Louie said as he walked away from me. I dried my tears as I walk back to the car. You'll be fine, Drey. You're just scared that no one will be there for you during this hard time. You'll be fine. Pregnancy is hard and Louie was the one who helped me through it. He became my rock. Maybe, that's what I'm so afraid of. I can't do this alone.
