Chapter Fifty Four

JUSTIN

I woke up and reached the other side of the bed to cuddle with Drey but she wasn't there. Kinusot ko yung mga mata ko at nag stretch bago lumabas pero wala rin siya dun. I even checked the kids' bedroom but she was also not there.

I thought to myself that maybe she was just out to buy some grocery so I chilled on the bed since I have no classes today. Minutes have passed but she still wasn't here so I grabbed my phone to text her but there was a displayed notification already.

From : Babe

Goodmorning babe, I'm at the hospital visiting coach. Hindi na kita nagising dahil baka pagod ka from school. There's leftover chicken and rice from last night, ipainit mo nalang.

Another message two hours later.

From : Babe

I'll be home at lunch time btw.

I looked at the clock and it was still 7 in the morning. What am I supposed to do while I wait? Ano kayang nangyari? Tawagan ko kaya siya? Nah, she's probably busy taking care of coach.

I should just enjoy the half day and bond with Mags and Mason. But I really miss her.

Can I just say how everything changed when we got back together? 'Got back together' meaning we're together but nobody really knows except us but that's okay for me. We're going on our baby steps, being mature about how it can affect our lives if we just announce that got back together after all the fucking commotion that happened.

But yeah, it feels awesome to be with her. Lagi naman kaming magkasama eh, pero iba pa rin yung assurance na meron ako ngayon. I can go to bed and tell myself that the girl I really love feels the same way about me.

"Oh." I uttered when I hid behind the door because I saw them wake up. I heard them giggle so I had to jump out and greet them, "Goodmorning!"

"You're not in your room?" tanong ni Mason habang nakasunod kay Margaux papalabas ng kwarto. He was pertaining about my unit that we keep on talking about. Doon ko nilalagay yung gamit ko sa school, pati mga damit. Marami na rin akong nabiling furniture, just the basics, pero mas at home pa rin ako dito. They always ask if I'm leaving, but when I say I do, they stop me.

"Yeah, do you not want me to stay here?" I joked even though I knew the answer. There's something about the little things that they do that makes me so happy. He grinned and giggled,

"I do! Stay here! All time." paputol putol niyang sabi. Tumango tango naman si Margaux pagkaupo niya.

"Where's mommy?" saad ni Mags habang kinukusot pa yung mga mata. I took some rice out of the pan and grabbed two spoons before I sat down and answered,

"She visited mama." mama na ang tinatawag nila kay tita Ana, dahil parang siya na rin yung pangalawa nilang nanay. She also won't accept being called lola so the kids had to cooperate.

Bigla akong nakarinig ng katok habang binibigyan ko sila ng tubig. Si Drey ba yun? It wasn't lunch time yet. My shoulders dropped out of excitement when I saw who it was.

"Heeyy!" malakas na sabi ni Sierra habang kumakaway rin si Steph. It's insane how they're always together. I haven't seen Sierra without Steph unless we were back home.

"Why are you guys here?" I asked, our of genuine confusion. Hindi naman sila maiinvite ni Drey dahil nasa ospital siya.

"Tita Antoinette called." she stressed on the 'Antoinette' like she had so much energy. Steph pouted, "We aren't opening until lunch, and we miss those cutie patooties so we decided to babysit them."
