Chapter Sixty One

JUSTIN

Napamulagat ako sa sobrang liwanag ng ilaw sa kung nasaan man ako. I took a look around and tried to remember what happened and how I got here. Sumakit ang ulo ko habang inaalala yung ginawa ni Drey.

She really broke up with me.

I remember how the rain drops felt running down my face along with my tears. I watched everything go dark without lifting my head up. Naalala ko noong tumila na yung ulan at may mga nakakita saakin na guard.

I remember how cold it was.

Sa pagkakaalala ko, magna cum laude naman ako. Hindi ko rin alam kung anong pumasok sa isip ko at ginawa ko yun.

I think it's more likely about what didn't go through my brain because of how Drey clouded every space of it. Nakakalimutan kong mag isip ng tama kapag dating sakanya.

"I'm not ready Justin. I'm sorry." she said and looked down. I admit, I was disappointed. Matagal tagal ko ring hinintay na maghiwalay na sila ni Louie, pero hindi ko siya gustong i-pressure. She's already doing so much as a mom to our kids. I trust her.

"Don't say sorry, okay lang ako. Take your time, okay? I'm always here, whenever you need me." I kissed her forehead and took her in my arms.

As long as she chooses me, I'm okay.

"Hey!" sigaw agad ni Sierra pagbukas ko ng pinto.

"Tita Sie!" sigaw ni Margaux habang binubulsa ko yung susi at cellphone ko.

"Ingat." sabi niya at pinagmadali akong umalis. Nakisuyo lang ako sakanya dahil gusto kong puntahan si Drey sa ospital. Kanina lang kasi niya sinabi na umalis pala si Louie, kupal yun. I might also be able to help since I have the same blood type as tita Ana's. I'm sure it would go well, I'll just be a backup.

Papaakyat na ako nang may madaanan akong nagtatakbuhan na nurse. Tinignan ko kung saan silang kwarto galing, at nakita ko si Drey sa tapat. May nangyari ba kay coach?

Hindi na muna ako dumiretso sakanila at bumaba ako ulit para itanong dun sa mga nurse yung nangyari.

"Excuse me, miss, I'm a friend of the bypass patient you're operating on. Si tita Ana, the swimming coach." I paused and watched her nod. "May problema ba?"

"Nagkulang po kasi yung dugo na kailangan namin para sa operation. We're still checking on what we can do." she calmly said while she looks outside.

"I'm AB negative. Aabot pa ba kung magbibigay ako?" tanong ko sakanya. Her eyes lit up and immediately escorted me to the lab.

I got a little dizzy so I stayed for a couple of minutes. Dapat pala kumain ako bago pumunta dito.

Naabutan kong tulog si Drey kaya hindi ko muna siya ginising. I sat at the bench beside her and watched her sleep. Staring at her sleeping was always my favorite thing to do.
