Sasha didn't stop ignoring Edmund until she got to her room. He had called her name so many times, he had gently tugged her arm but she ignored him the whole way. She even told him to go away at one point but when he heard her voice break and then noticed her glossy eyes, he just couldn't leave her.

As she opened her bedroom door she began to close it but Edmund's strength out weighed hers. He came into her room and closed the door behind him before facing Sasha.

"What do you want!" She raised her voice. "Can't you tell that I want to be left alone?" She asked annoyed, holding back the tears.

"I just defended you from a Lady and I come here to comfort you and you are wanting me to leave you alone?" Edmund asked in an annoyed disbelief.

"I didn't ask you to defend me, your majesty" she retorted as she emphasised the way she said 'your majesty'

"I couldn't just let her insult you. Or let her discuss on a topic that I can see upsets you" Edmund snapped in a more annoyed and louder voice. He didn't understand how this girl can be so blind to the fact that he is on her side, how he defended her against a Lady which could've possibly married him, not that he wanted her.

And then she was silent, she had her eyes pointed to the ground to avoid them meeting
With Edmund's.

"I've noticed" he began in a softer voice taking a step closer. She slowly looked up and met her eyes with the Young King. "I've noticed the look of fear in your eyes when anyone mentions your family, I've noticed that what you told us at breakfast about your family was a lie and that there's something more that you don't want to tell us. Everyone else might be able to not notice these details but I'm not blind, I see your pain. I can feel your pain sometimes. Don't tell me that I won't be able to understand because I feel pain and hurt every single day." Sasha listened to every word that Edmund spoke, she felt the pain in his words. As if they were connected, every ounce of emotion and true feeling he felt somehow radiated off of his body onto Sasha's.

Although she was sympathising with him she stood up straighter, making herself look strong.

"You can't just assume things" she spoke rather harshly trying to hold back the tears that were about to burst through the seams.

You have to keep strong, that's what the voice in her head kept saying. Don't you dare show weakness, thats just an invitation for people to hurt you. To break you. Put on any other facade to conceal your weakness, or else you'll suffer.

So she came across as bitter and enraged at the Young King. However, she was far from it. She just wanted to let everything go and cry, talk and sit in silence anything for her to escape this massive feeling of the weight on the world on her shoulders but she kept finding herself listing to the little voice in her head.

"My assumptions are correct, Sasha. Stop trying to fool me" Edmund persisted staring at the girl with his eyebrows in a slight frown but his brown eyes only showed softness.

"You do not know my story, King Edmund" Sasha spoke through ragged breaths. Her voice was shaky and she could feel it. Edmund knew she was trying to get him to leave everything be but he couldn't, not now.

"Nor do you know mine, Sasha. But I'm intrigued to find out" he said as he took a step closer to her lifting his hand and gently placing it on her cheek. Sasha closed her eyes at the touch of his hand on her cheek, the gesture of affection bewildered her, scared her in fact. But even she couldn't deny that it felt nice. She could feel the tears well up in her eyes and she slowly opened them as she heard him speak again. "Whatever it is that's stopping you from talking about your family is nothing to worry about. I won't judge you about it, I just want to help you" he finished with his voice quiet and gentle.

Sasha lifted her hand and placed it on Edmund's hand, that was on her face. She leaned her head further against his hand and with a deep, shaky sigh she looked the young king in the eyes and she shook her head slightly. Her voice was cracking and she was only amazed about how she hadn't burst into a river of tears yet. However, what she spoke again, in a voice that was barely above a whisper, that was when the tears started to fall.

"It wasn't easy"
