Patches of light broke free from the gaps in the trees and bird song played throughout the forest. It was a beautiful song, it almost caused Sasha to dance around the trees.
But she didn't.
She was too confused. Why was she in the forest? How did she even get there? But even though the feelings of confusion washed over her, she couldn't help but feel calm. She felt safe and happy, despite her not having a clue where she was.
Even when a lion appeared from within the trees, she still felt safe. As she noticed the lion a surge of shock went through her body, causing her to freeze. She didn't freeze of fright, but at the sheer magnificence of the lion.
In her world lions were considered dangerous. But this lion showed no signs of danger. It looked as if his facial expression was soft and care free. The lion made his way towards Sasha, a sense of power and pride radiating through the air.
"Sasha" The lion purred. His voice was deep and strong.
"...Hello?" It took her a while to force the word out her mouth and even then, it sounded weak.
A soft chuckle echoed through the air as the big lion closed his eyes softly before opening them again. "There's no need to be frightened, child.
I'm not going to hurt you" his voice was soft yet powerful."Where am I?.. I mean, I know where I am but how did I get here? I was at the Kings and Queens pal-" Sasha dragged on but she was cut off by another one of his soft chuckles.
"You're in your head" the lion spoke and Sasha frowned in confusion.
"What?" Sasha asked confused. Does that mean she's crazy? Is this not real?
"There's a moment when you are still drifting off to sleep but not completely asleep, it's almost as if you are floating in the middle" The deep voice rang through her ears as she just nodded understanding what he was saying.
"That's where you are."
"So, is this not real?" She questioned.
"It is real. Right now your spiritual self has left your body and came here because there's some things that we must discuss. Your physical form is still sitting in Raya's infirmary" the lion explained as Sasha tried to process this information.
"Things we have to discuss?" Sasha raised her brow as the lion slowly nodded his head.
"You're dying Sasha. Queen Lucy's cordial is not working and I think that's because you are wanting to die" despite the dark words, his voice was still calm, still smooth and soft.
Sasha stared at the ground, images of Arkin attacking her, Arkin. Of all of the Narnians it's Arkin who attacks her, heart break isn't even the words to describe how she feels. She's confided with that wolf and went to him for comfort. When she got upset about her family at the party when the Braxton's were first arriving: it was Arkin who she let in her room: it was Arkin who she cried in front of: it was Arkin who she relied on ever since she set foot into Narnia. She cares for Arkin and all that ended in was him attacking her.
She thought about Annabella and how she's done nothing but hate her since arriving. The petty comments she says and the constant judging look she has whenever she sees Sasha also began to run through her mind.
And to top it all off; how could she forget about how she is unwanted by her parents? Her mum and dad don't want Sasha back, they want Annie back.
She thought long and hard about what the lion had insinuated. Perhaps she does want to die.
