Ronnie's POV

I was so worried.

I had no reason to be because I knew he was okay.

He called me earlier from the station saying he wouldn't be long.

It was roughly after midnight and I was sitting on the hood of his car.

Just waiting.

Looking at the night sky that belonged to me and him.

It's what brought us together.

The moon and the stars.

I was the sun that set every afternoon and he was the moon that let me be who I was every morning to follow.

He was art; fine poetry.

The way his fingertips used to trail across his bedroom window, our bedroom window.

It was as if they would trace a map and he had finally found his way.

He wasn't lost anymore and neither was I.

I felt before that I was in a labyrinth.

Lost in my own mind.

But he, Colby,

Made me sane again.

We both made it out of the cold, dark maze.

And he was my prize; the best reward imaginable.

I am so glad that I spoke to him that night.

I'm so grateful that I met him the night of the party.

I was so truly happy that I stayed and kissed him only a week after we met.

It may have took as a year but we found each other.

He was mine and I was his, at last.

All it took was one night for my life to finally begin.

For me to find my purpose.

And he was standing at the gate, messing with the lock.

I sat up and slid down his bonnet.

He walked with his head held high and that trademark devilish smirk.

He turned my exhaustion into gratitude.

He made me grateful.

I wrapped my arms around his body and held him close.

He rested his chin on the crown of my head.

His heartbeat was steady, calm and peaceful like a beach at night.

The waves blissfully tumbling over one another.

"Hey baby" he mumbled with a relief,

I looked up to his eyes, bloodshot still.

I traced my fingers over a bruise on his lower eye socket frowning,

"It doesn't hurt, im okay, we are okay" he reassured cupping my cheeks in his warm palms,

"I love you" I breath like it's the last time I will ever let the words leave my lips.

He lifted my lips to his and I knew all this time was worth it.

If it meant that I could feel this rush everyday, then hell,

let it happen.
