"You're doing great," Jay said softly, knowing that Danny would only freak out and wreck if he spoke any louder. Danny had been putting off driving himself for years, and now that he was in his thirty's, he figured he should learn sooner or later. He had gotten his licence six months ago, but didn't drive because of his anxiety. He hadn't been in a car wreck himself, nor had anyone in his family, but just seeing it on the news scared him. So he just wouldn't do it.
They thought that driving early in the morning was a better idea than doing it at rush hour, just to minimize how many people where on the road. But, living in LA, there's not ever a good time to drive without seeing some assholes along the way.
They came up to a four-way road, and waited for the people to cross the street. The car behind them honked their horn at the people crossing, making Danny jump, his window being down. "What? What did I do?" He asked.
"Nothing, he's just being an ass," Jay said, flipping off the car that made the loud sound.
"Oh..."
Danny started turning right, but quickly stopped when he heard Jay yell "Hold on," a girl quickly crossing the street in front of them. Danny sighed, continuing to turn as tears welt up in his eyes, hearing a small 'sorry' from the girl he almost ran over.
"I don't wanna do this anymore..." He whispered softly, making Jay frown.
"No baby it's okay," He said rubbing his back, "Do you wanna pull over?"
Danny nodded, pulling into a parking lot of a drug store and getting out. He quickly ran over to Jay, barely even being out of the car, and tightly hugged him. Danny started to sob as Jay rocked him back and forth, rubbing his back to calm him down. "It's okay baby, you'll try again next time..." He whispered.
Danny shook his head, "No... I don't wanna drive anymore..."
"Okay, lets go get breakfast. I'll drive." Danny let go and wiped away his tears, getting in the seat behind Jay and holding onto his shirt as they go their food.
