A loud crashing sound woke me up from my sleep. I rushed downstairs and saw my parents, Victoria and her parents all standing around the broken vase on the floor.
"I'm so sorry I didn't mean to, I just-"
"Calm down its an old cheap vase." I said interrupting Victoria
Everyone turned around to look at me. I greeted them as they returned the same gesture. Victoria was standing still holding a tray full of food. The broken glass was right beside her feet. I grabbed the tray from her hands and set it down on the table.
"Make sure not to step on it." I carefully helped her
away
I was getting ready to leave the house when my dad stopped me. I looked back at him to let him finish what he has to say.
"Can you take Miss Victoria with you. We have some important matters to discuss here." He gestured toward her
I glanced over to Victoria and she gave a little nod before following me out. I walked on ahead to the swings and she trailed behind. We both silently took a seat, choosing to look at our surroundings instead of facing each other.
Suddenly Victoria spoke up, "Why do you speak so formally with your dad?"
My eyes darted to her for a second, but I looked away just as fast.
"I don't have a good relationship with him, that's all." I said
I saw her slowly nodding her head from the corner of my eyes. She still seemed sort of tense, maybe because of what happened with the vase.
"Just forget about it." I sighed and stood up
She quickly stood up and followed too. I strolled around the garden leisurely as she treaded on my heels. After a few minutes I stopped and turned to look at her, making her freeze in place.
"Why are you following me?" I asked
"Our pa-"
"Never mind, do you wanna go to the park?" I interrupted
"I don't know." She responded
"Alright then I'll be leaving." I said as I walked to my car
"No wait! I'm coming too." She said quickly catching up to me
*************
"You're cheating!" She yelled
"How was that cheating!? I won fair and square!" I yelled childishly
"Its not fair!!" She groaned grumpily as she went to the bench
"It was a hundred percent fair." I said
"How is it fair when you're a lot taller than me, how is that even fair!?" She protested
"Calm down it's just a game, stop yelling for goodness sake." I said
"Oh yeah? Make me." She glared and continued on yelling out her complaints
"Keep it up and you'll regret this." I scoffed
