Chapter 31

Mia's P.O.V

"The biological father of Miss Katie Carters is...Mr Jack Avery" he announced, everyone had different emotions plastered over their face.
I looked over at Jack who was ecstatic and I looked over at Daniel, who looked like his heart had just torn into pieces. Jake squeezed my hand for comfort, I could tell he didn't like the current situation, Ashley was beside Daniel smirking. Something didn't feel right, something felt, off, it doesn't make sense. Katie looks exactly like Daniel, I mean, her personality, her eyes, her hair, everything.

I looked over at Taylor who I knew was thinking the exact same thing as we gave each other the look. Katie didn't have a clue what was going on, Jack ran over and hugged Katie to which she laughed,
"I like your noodles" and began playing with his hair. Everything about her screamed Daniel, and we all knew it. Maybe I just want it to be Daniel, but I still can't shake the fact that something feels off about this whole thing.

I noticed Taylor had sneaked into the doctors room, I followed her whilst the rest were collecting the 'reports' from the doctor.
We began rummaging through the papers and files and reports on the desk until finally, we came across the names 'Carters', 'Seavey' and 'Avery', we opened the file, to found a report labelled 'real report'

"Aha! I bet it was that bitch Ashley who bribed him or something!" Taylor said about to go and expose her but I stopped her,
"No. They would never believe us, we need more proof than this, the type of proof no one can deny" I say.
We both thought for a minute then it clicked, "Cameras!" we both exclaimed at the same time and sneaked back out the room, with the report still in Taylor's hands.

"Babe, we'll meet you guys back here, we need to use the restroom" I said to Jake to which he nodded then continued playing with Katie.
We ran over to the control room that had 'staff only' labelled on it. We looked around then sneaked into the surveillance area, looking for the footage that showed that the reports were altered with.

Finally, after a while of searching through the different cameras and different rooms at different times, we found the footage from the camera that shows Ashley handing the doctor money and the doctor altering the reports and plus, now we have the real report.
I took a video of it from my phone and left to rejoin the group back to the team 10 house.

Throughout the ride, Taylor and I were impatiently waiting to reveal the video and the report. Finally, once we arrived, we set up my phone and linked it to the tv in the lounge so everyone could see it. Finally, once everyone was sitting down in the lounge in front of the tv I pressed play.

I watched all their faces, everyone was pissed and disgusted by what she did, especially Daniel, and Ashley, she looked as if she had seen a ghost. Once the video finished, I came out with the report,
"Sorry Avery, you're not the father, Daniel is" I announced and threw the report to Daniel as him and Jack analysed it.

Ashley stood up and so did Daniel,
"You disgust me, get the fuck out!" He yelled angrily but upset.
"Whatever, I know you were just using me as distraction, well guess what? I was just using you for your fame. Byee" she said snobbily before blowing a kiss, grabbing her bag then flicking her hair and leaving, her heels clicking on the hardwood floor on the way out.

"Byee! I hope you get hit by a bus!" I smiled and waved as she left.
Daniel let the tears out, I gotta admit, it hurt me to see him like that.
"Don't sulk on it seavey, she's a bitch" I said kicking back on the sofa,
"Yh no shit" Taylor added sarcastically before joining me and plopping down on the sofa beside me. Everyone began laughing even Daniel managed to wipe away his tears.

"I really liked her" he said,
"Well love hurts" I replied looking down still refusing to meet his eyes. I looked at Jack now, who looked more guilty than ever, until, he finally cracked, "I can't do this anymore!" He said running his hand through his curls.

"Daniel, everyone here knows beside you that, I lied, okay? I lied! I lied when I told you that she forced me and said she loved me. I forced her to drink because, I wanted to admit my feelings for her" he started. What the fuck Jack?
"She was so intoxicated and I was sober enough to stop it, but, I didn't, she didn't tell the truth because she didn't want to ruin our relationship or my career, she has a good heart, and I don't" he finished at this point Daniel was furious.

I squeezed my eyes, I wanted this all to go away, Daniel inched forward towards Jack ready to swing,
"You asshole, you know how much I loved her" he was going to swing but stopped as I stepped in front of Jack.
"Enough already! Just stop it! I think you guys should leave before things get anymore serious" I yelled having enough.

"But Katie-" Daniel started,
"Katie is not your daughter, her dad is Jake and I am her mum, you may be related biologically and that is the only reason I might let you meet her every now and then, but for now, enough is enough." I said sternly.
"You left us alone once Daniel, you can do it again" I said softly making him feel guilty and torn.

I shut the door once they had left and Katie was still in Jakes arms and looked confused, trying to figure out what was going on. I wasn't gonna tell her. Jake is her father.
