Ambrosia

I hurried out and bumped into a strong guy. He had a broad chest and had massive muscles, even scarier than Ryder.

"Sorry." He apologized sincerely. His voice was deep and husky, which made it quite weird.

"Marcus."

At the sight of Ryder, Marcus bowed deeply. Ryder glared at me and I glared right back. Like it was my fault I bumped into Marcus, I just didn't see him.

"Can't you watch out?!" He snapped, his playful mood all gone.

"If you hadn't pissed me off, I wouldn't have stormed out cluelessly." I snapped back, he growled lowly.

It sounded so angry I should've been scared, but I wasn't. I strangely wasn't scared of him.

"I'm sorry, Aplha." Marcus apologized.

Ryder patted his shoulder, like they were best friends. They seemed like they were.

"It was her fault. Tell me, where is Ella?" At her name Marcus light up.

"Did someone say my name?" A girl, even shorter than me walked our way. She had long blond hair, the opposite of Marcus' black, but they shared the same ice blue eyes. Although the girl had such a warm aura.

She immediately linked herself with Marcus, her small body jumping on his larger one.

"I missed you. Where were you?" She pouted.

"A problem at the borders. I took care of it..." He looked at Ryder, who nodded.

"But I'm free now." He placed a sweet kiss on her cheek.

Who would've thought such huge guy could be so tender and sweet? I knew from that moment I loved the couple.

"Than you can join the girls on a shopping trip, buddy. She needs clothes." He pointed at me, realizing he didn't know my name.

"I'm Ambrosia." I introduced myself.

"That's such a pretty name. I would die for another name. Come on, Ella what kind of name is that. You see Marcus has like a cool ancient name and I just a modern day name!" She cried, Marcus tried to comfort her as Ryder laughed.

"Ryder Felix Adonis!" She exclaimed at him, pointing her finger in his face.

He just seemed amused and adoration filled his eyes, she meant a lot to him. But I didn't know how or why?

"Sorry, El, I'll try to not tease you again." He laughed.

"So Ambrosia, I assume you want to hurry to get new clothes. Those clothes barley cover you properly." Marcus concluded.

"His fault, did you want to know what clothes he came up first?" I growled angry.

"Take her and come back, I'll explain you guys everything." He told them, they nodded. Agreeing to his order.

The mall was large and a mile away from the big house. People walked in and out, laughing and talking. It was near noon by now and the sun shone brightly, making me squint my eyes.

"How can it be so sunny out here? It's winter." I asked Ella and Marcus.

They both smiled at me and Ella lays her hand on my shoulder, acting as if I'm a child and she the teacher. I couldn't stand it when someone looked down on me or treated me lower than they should be.

"Werewolves can't stand the cold. The moon goddess blessed all packs with continue sun. We have no seasons on this ground." She explained.

"Moon goddess?" I frown.

And again she's the teacher and I'm the stupid child. But I push it aside. Ella seemed so sweet and nice, maybe she acted this way around everyone.

"Our creator, our God. We praise her, we all are her children." She beamed.

Marcus followed her lead, the moon goddess was important for them. And they clearly admired her. I've never believed in God, but I couldn't deny the certain pull I felt just by hearing the moon goddess. Maybe I was born with the instinct she existed and now I finally figured out what I am, it doesn't shock me at all.

"You'll get used to it. It must be a lot to take in. Why don't we get you some clothes, to give it some time?" Marcus purposed.

I smiled gratefully at him. I seriously would've never thought he would be so nice and understanding. But you can't judge people from the way they look.
Ella squealed excited and linked our arms.

"Rydie gave me his credit card, we're going wild!" She exclaimed happy.

"But the money-" I tried to protest.

"The guy makes money when he sleeping, he doesn't mind." Marcus laughed full heartily.

Ella takes my confusion as a way to pull me with her. I never liked shopping so much, since we got clothes from the orphan house itself. But when I made my own money, I would love to go out and buy something. Although most of my moment went into my college savings.

I recognized a lot of famous branches and felt confused. I thought the outside world was supposed to be dangerous.

"How come I recognize those branches?" I asked pointing at Zara, H&M, Pull&Bear and a lot more.

"We get them shipped here, we can't be that independent. I would die if I could never shop at Zara's." Ella stated, her eyes widening at the awful thought.

Amazed I let myself get pulled everywhere by Ella. She pushes clothes in my hands, before sending me to the changing booth.
The first item is a white sundress, it came to my midtigh and my arms were bare. I was so pale, I frowned not liking it. The dress was gorgeous, but I wasn't.

"Are you wearing something?" Ella asked from the other side of the curtain.

"Yes." I replied, my eyes still on my own reflection.

She walked in and I muffled a scream. I stared at her in horror, she just shrugged and examined my body.

"You have a great body." She breathed, turning me around.

"We can tan sometime together, but that pale skin suits you." She commented.

"I don't feel comfortable." I admitted.

"You'll do, trust me." She promised.

I wasn't sure I should trust her, but looking in her eyes I could see a great friendship growing.
