It was the day of the party and I didn't have anything to wear. All the girls were talking about there wonderful gowns and I was debating if I should just wear a training.

"What are you wearing, Ambrosia?" Pauline just did that on purpose.

I had to look great. She had shown of her dress and it was breathtaking. A pastel pink short dress with that went loose around her waist to her upper knees and had spaghetti strings.

"I have nothing." I confessed honestly.

"Me too, but then Ryder bought this one for me. Doesn't he have such good taste and it fits perfectly with the bracelet he got me!" She smirked like a angel, but she was far from it.

"Did Ryder ever gifted you something?" Amber, one of her side hoes, asked me.

It was very clear. Ryder doesn't get me things or when he does I decline them and he gives them to Pauline. Overall I would always be second choice and they loved to rub it in my face.

"No." I answered.

"Don't be surprised if he rejects you then." Pauline grinned.

"If he was planning too, he would've done it by now. Don't you think?" I snapped.

"That's because he feels bad for you. Your just a mistake and foster care is really bad. Once you're graduated, he'll most likely kick you out." That was a brutal truth.

"He teaches you a lesson by punishing you. People from your rang are just made to serve people like us." She continued.

I was going to beat her to death, but that would only get me into trouble. And that was the last thing I wanted right now. So I was the bigger person and back out of the conversation.

I knew I wasn't aloud outside, but there was one thing I needed to be done. As preparation for a huge fallback. I had to see the student councillor. His name was mr. Jennings and he was the only adult that lived in the pack house. His mate died in a rogue pack years ago. It was horrible for him so they let him live in the pack house, the house had memories and all.

He was always outside, drawing the woods. I just had to find him, before Ryder found me and killed me. I wasn't supposed to leave the packhouse.

"Mr. Jennings!" I sat down next to him.

"Always great to see you, Ambrosia, but you're under house arrest." He reminded me.

"This is really important." I insisted, he nodded containing drawing.

"Are there scholarships for colleges?" I asked.

"Of course, the lunar university in the royal pack." He told me.

"That's not what I meant." He stopped drawing.

"Yale." I said steady, it has been my dream school since I was a child.

"You want to go to a mundane college?" He questioned.

"Yes, I full heartily want to. Things aren't looking great for me in the future if I continue staying here." I confessed.

"He's not going to reject you." This is why he's a advisor. They can read your mind!

"He is and I don't blame him if he would. Pauline was his first mate and she will always be that. The only thing I do, is disappoint him." I corrected him.

"What about your friends? Rosalie, Jayden, Olivia and all the others?" He asked.

"It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make." I replied my voice unsteady.

"Ambrosia, you-" he was cut off by one yell that made me almost poop my pants.

"AMBROSIA KNIGHT!" It was Ryder.

I jumped up and looked at were the angry scream came from. He was surrounded by the border guards and Marcus, who all watched me.

"I'll get it fixed." Mr. Jennings spoke.

"Thank you so much!" I couldn't help but hug him.

"Yeah, don't do that. I don't want the alpha to kill me!" He pushed me off.

I blushed and slowly made my way to a fuming Ryder. The guys eyed me in pure sympathy and Marcus patted my back as if I was already written death, which I probably was.

"Why can't you just obey?!" He sounded tired of my missteps.

"I just wanted to ask something." I shrugged.

"And that couldn't have been inside?" He questioned.

"I wasn't thinking..." I muttered.

"Look, just get inside. I'm too busy to be even lecture you." He told me.

Ryder turned to Marcus and whispered something to him. I finally caught their tension, it was alarming and dangerous.

"Busy how?" I asked.

"None of your concern. Get inside, Ambrosia." He snapped.

"Fine." I snapped and walked away inside.

I could feel eyes boring into my back, but I had no idea whose.

Or I have a secret admirer or someone felt sorry for me. I didn't know which it was. But there lay a beautiful dress stretched out over my bed. I picked it up and laid it against me, I walked to the mirror. It reached my mid-tigh and was white, more beige, with a flower patron.

A squeal escaped my mouth and I quickly got dressed into it. The material was soft and it suited me perfectly. I felt like a Disney princess, without her Prince Charming then, but I felt pretty for the first time ever.

I was already late for the party, but when aren't I late for anything? I sat down in front of my mirror and applied some makeup, but not much. I didn't want to feel cakey. My hair was naturally curly, I just added some volume. And I was ready to go.

"Ambrosia!" Rosalie walked in my room.

She looked stunning in a dark blue dress with a decorated top. It went loose around her waist in a satin material. Her natural straight hair was in full waves and had more volume. And her makeup was, just like mine, light not too much.

Where did you get this dress from?" She asked, walking closer.

"It was my homecoming dress, but I'm here so..." I didn't know why I decided to lie.

But Rosalie would jump on a table, demanding for the secret admirer to confess. I didn't want the entire pack to know. I didn't want Ryder to know.

"Oh, it's really nice. And you look hot, lets go make a particular person jealous." She grinned devilishly.

"I don't want Ryder to be jealous." I told her.

"Then at least show him what he's missing on!" She dragged me along for a long night.
