Hayley Marshall had been driving the moving van with her precious cargo from town to town for five months. She was constantly on the move, never spending more than one night in any one place as she was terrified that Marcel Gerard would show up at any moment and finish the deadly job he had begun. Her mind raced as she was overwhelmed with the near-impossible task that lay in front of her, the saving of the Mikaelsons. Hayley was exhausted, her baby Hope was crying constantly for her imprisoned father Niklaus, and she nearly crashed the truck falling asleep behind the wheel. She blew a tire in the process. She pulled over to the side of the road and exited the truck to allow the chill from the crisp night air to revive her senses before tackling the flat tire.

The timing was perfect for Angelica to make contact. The truck had a tracking device attached to it that The Seven monitored so they could keep in proximity to the truck without being seen, providing a secret protective net around Hayley to ensure she was kept safe during her journey to nowhere. They had even been hard at work dropping false clues for Marcel's agents to follow but eventually realized that Marcel Gerard had sent no one after Hayley, but they covered her tracks nonetheless just to be sure.

As Hayley paced next to the truck, Angelica, Rafe and Albee appeared suddenly from the darkness. They kept their distance from her and Angelica spoke softly, "Do not fear us, we will keep you safe." Hayley was startled and her eyes turned yellow as her werewolf nature began to emerge but Angelica repeated from the distance that they were not there to harm her, but rather to help her. Angelica held her hands out in front of her and Rafe and Albee stayed behind in the shadows. Angelica stopped a short distance from Hayley and talked to her. She told Hayley that she was of Elijah Mikaelson's sire line, that his death would mean the death of his sire line, and that she was here to do everything she could to help Hayley find the cures she needed. Hayley did not trust her and her eyes darted from the broken down truck to Angelica, to Rafe and Albee, and back again. Angelica spoke calmly toward Hayley again, telling her she understood. Angelica opened her left hand and slowly reached into her jacket pocket and removed an envelope. She tossed the envelope to Hayley. Angelica told her this was something to help get her through the next couple of weeks. She motioned to the shadows and two other men walked out carrying boxes. Hayley was wild-eyed at this point, overwhelmed by the numbers and exhaustion and the stress of it all. The men set the boxes down and disappeared back into the darkness. Angelica told her, "There is $10,000.00 in that envelope. My card is in that envelope as well. I can help you. I can get you to a safe house. I can make sure you have everything you need for you and your daughter. I can make sure the Mikaelsons are kept safe. Here are a few supplies for Hope and yourself. I am not here to hurt you. I will help you if you will let me. My name is Lica Dragonetti. Call me anytime, day or night."

With that, Angelica and The Seven disappeared leaving a bewildered Hayley standing by the side of the road for several minutes until she was sure they were gone. She changed the tire on the truck and then looked into the boxes, breathing a sigh of relief as she saw all manner of supplies for Hope: diapers, baby wipes, formula, food, and fresh clothing. There were additional supplies for Hayley along with fresh fruit and other food for the road. There was indeed $10,000.00 in small bills in that envelope.

It would be two more weeks of going from town to town before Hayley would finally call that phone number. She was exhausted and out of ideas on how to tackle the insurmountable task of finding the cures. She thought about Angelica's offer and the number of men she had with her. Had they wanted to take the Mikaelsons or Hope they would have attacked her then and there, but they did not. Perhaps this woman would help her after all.  She felt she could trust this Angelica but she could not explain why.  Hayley found a payphone, dropped change into the slot, and dialed the number. A woman's voice answered, simply saying, "Hello Hayley, I am glad you called." Hayley told her she needed her help, and she needed to trust someone if she was going to save her family.
