Mason's treatments had worked in restoring Angelica's health. It was putrid but she consumed Mason's awful concoction daily and that, coupled with Mikaelson blood, provided everything her unborn child needed to develop and grow and she was now four months into the pregnancy suffering no ill effects. Charlie had modified a pregnancy girdle for her that provided the extra warmth the baby thrived upon and allowed Angelica to be mobile again. She walked into the study to tell Elijah she would be downstairs in the gym but found Elijah and Rafe in conversation about a businessman named Roman Alexander.

"Roman Alexander?" inquired Angelica, "Rafe, isn't he that venture capitalist who contacted us about a year ago wanting in on the eastside development project? I thought we sent him on his way." Rafe nodded, "We thought so, too, Albee and I met with him and told him we were not interested, but he's back and insisting upon a meeting with you, personally. I've already told him you are not available but he says he has something that you, and only you, will want to see."

Angelica thought about it for a moment. Investors had been coming out of the woodwork since they broke ground on the development but Charlie's background investigation into Roman had raised some concern so they chose not pursue any business ventures with him. The mysterious Roman Alexander had been quite persistent and Angelica wondered if the only way to be done with him was to give him the meeting he wanted. "I could meet with him," she said, but Elijah shook his head no, he had become increasingly overprotective of her, understandably so, and did not like the idea of her meeting with this shady stranger, especially in her condition. "Elijah, other than a baby bump I am fine," she assured him but Elijah would not hear of it. She was about to dig in her heels but then quickly changed her mind, "Alright then," she said, throwing Elijah off for a moment as he was bracing to defend himself against what was clearly a losing position on his part, unprepared for her to concede so suddenly. Even Rafe looked surprised. "I was headed down to the gym anyway, time to stretch out the kinks from all that bedrest." She kissed Elijah, winked at Rafe, then turned and walked out of the room. The two men watched as she left then Rafe looked at Elijah, and said, "Dude, you are going to pay for that later." Elijah just stared at the empty doorway and nodded.

The meeting with Roman Alexander had been set for 1 PM that day and Conrad, Mick and Elijah were headed to the AEM offices. Rafe and Albee were already there catching up on paperwork. Elijah reviewed the Roman Alexander file and instantly saw the concerns they had about the businessman. It wasn't that Charlie had found bad information on Roman Alexander but rather it was the absence of information that raised the alarm. "Nothing," Elijah commented, then asked, "no leads as to his real identity?" Rafe shook his head.

It was decided that Elijah, Conrad and Mick would handle the meeting with Roman Alexander, an easy enough meeting as Elijah would make it clear that AEM would not be doing business with him. Rafe and Albee headed across town to see how the development project was progressing now that the contractor had broken ground. On their return, they would stop at a shop that catered to witches to pick up some supplies for Mason. Mason was still not allowed to leave the penthouse, having been placed under a house arrest of sorts by Elijah who still did not trust Mason after his secret ritual nearly killed Angelica.

Back at the penthouse, Charlie was in the war room at his computers coordinating with his contacts throughout the world on the various covert operations that were in progress. Lonnie and Epstein were in the Frat House with an ear to the gym, giving Angelica some much needed privacy but ready to respond if she called them. Mason was in his room reading through another old grimoire.

Rebekah had been noticeably preoccupied that morning, she seemed to be getting call after call on her cell and would disappear into her room or out onto the balcony to take or make a call. She was up to something, Elijah had noticed, and assumed that she was planning some sort of surprise for Angelica. Rebekah relished in the pregnancy and was excited at the prospect of another baby Mikaelson and "Auntie Bex" was not going to be denied.
