Kol was angry at having been daggered for so long and held back nothing as he shouted at his siblings for what they had done to him and for how much time he had lost. After endless hours of yelling and arguing, slamming doors and broken dishes, Kol stormed out of the house and into the night, ravenous with hunger and bent on quenching that thirst. Niklaus followed after him to keep him out of trouble and to keep trouble from reaching them.

Elijah was visibly annoyed with his youngest brother and sipped heavily on a nightcap in the library. Elijah had asked Angelica to remain out of Kol's sight to keep her out of harm's way, as Kol could be quite unpredictable when subject to the blood lust and his ornery nature. She walked into the library and wrapped her arms around Elijah, and kissed him. He smiled down at her and he wrapped his free arm around her and pulled her close to him. She asked when Niklaus and Kol would return and Elijah told her they would likely be out all night.

Angelica took the glass from his hand, took a sip from it and then set it down on the table. "Well, then, how shall we pass the time until they return?" she asked, with a sly little smile and a mischievous glint in her green eyes. "Yes," he said, grinning back at her, "whatever shall we do?" He lifted her up then set her on the table in front of him and they began to kiss. The argument with Kol was now a distant memory for Elijah as his anger and irritation evaporated into something more enjoyable. Poor Rebekah was returning to the library just then when she stopped at the door, rolled her eyes then muttered under her breath, "Bloody hell, eighty years married and they still act like newlyweds!" She turned heel and went to her room for the evening as the downstairs would be off-limits for quite a while.

Kol and Niklaus returned in the morning as Elijah predicted and Kol was much more reasonable, having satiated his blood lust overnight. Niklaus had told Kol about Angelica, how she came to join the family, and when Kol was finally introduced to her, he embraced her and told her, "This is long overdue but welcome to the family." Kol was on his best behavior around Angelica, having been warned by Niklaus of the consequences if he were to harm a single hair on her head. But Kol being Kol always had an ulterior motive.

Over the months that followed, Kol would disappear for days and weeks on end. Angelica would ask him about his travels and noticed how adept Kol was at answering the question without revealing any real information. But Kol gave no signs that anything was amiss. His siblings were accustomed to his wanderlust and thought little of the absences as long as he kept his exploits from becoming public.

Kol would descend upon households at first, using his charms for an invitation in then feasting on entire families. Kol's activities initially went unnoticed by his siblings but soon news of the deaths and disappearances started to spread as these attacks began to occur more frequently. Elijah, Niklaus and Rebekah would counsel their brother, beg their brother, to keep his activities more discreet, to remind him not to do anything that would bring Mikael to them. Kol would agree and behave for a while but then it would not be long before he was back at it again. The discord that Kol's presence brought into the home was uncomfortable for Angelica, she had never experienced this before and she wanted to help as best she could to alleviate the dissension Kol caused. Kol was a challenge for her, another puzzle to solve, another problem to fix.

This was the opening that Kol needed to manipulate Angelica. He would confide in her about his feelings about his siblings, about his blood lust, his lack of control, and Angelica was empathetic. Elijah cautioned her about Kol but Angelica was driven to help Kol to be the better person Kol claimed he wanted to be. It would not be long before Angelica found herself cleaning up Kol's messes, covering up his massacres, doing anything she could to keep Kol's activities from reaching his siblings ears, unable to accept that he was something she could not fix.
