The Mikaelson siblings looked at each other not certain if they understood what Mason was telling them. But it was Elijah who spoke, "Mason, Rhea was a powerful witch because she was Voltanus' first-born child?" Mason nodded. All four Mikaelson siblings looked at Freya on the monitor. "Are you telling us that we are descended from Voltanus?" Mason shook his head in agreement. Mason explained, "Dahlia and your mother, Esther, are descended from Gaia's bloodline. Gaia was the only surviving member of Voltanus bloodline as all the rest were massacred by Romulus and his men. But Gaia was smuggled out and her identity kept a secret. She lived in a small, secluded village and for three thousand years her bloodline continued in that village and that village alone, with each first-born being a powerful witch. It was in this village in the Kingdom of Norway that Mikael and his Viking marauders invaded and killed everyone and again destroyed all of Voltanus' descendants, all but two: Dahlia, the first-born powerful witch, and her sister, Esther, who ultimately married Mikael and had seven children.

This news stunned the room as Mason summed it all up. "How ironic that destiny itself brought together Angelica, Alexander's bloodline, and Elijah, Voltanus' bloodline, as needed for the spell to work. It is no surprise that even with your sire link severed that your blood called out for his." Elijah was speechless and just looked at Angelica and then at Mason.

"Elijah, destiny had a plan for you all along. It was your destiny to be in the woods near that road the day Angelica was attacked and the Duchess murdered. It has always been your destiny to be together. Did you not notice how every relationship that you have had since coming to New Orleans seemed doomed or ended in tragedy? You were meant to be with each other and I missed it, completely. I was so blinded with trying to find a descendent of Voltanus' bloodline that I missed what was placed right in front of me by destiny. Imagine my shock when I discovered the truth in your blood." Rebekah spoke now, "This is unbelievable."

Mason continued and explained that once he knew the truth about the bloodline, he now had to solve the problem of allowing two vampires to procreate, and he solved it in the ritual he performed in the woods that day when the psychic link between Angelica and Elijah was reconnected. He had found everything he needed to make the spells work and to implement the final plan, and again as destiny would have it, it was Angelica herself who approached him to perform the linking ritual that gave him the cover he needed for the fertility ritual that ultimately worked.

Angelica placed her hand on her swollen belly thinking back upon the ritual. Freya spoke now over the video link, "Mason, who did you sacrifice to complete the ritual?" Mason did not answer her, reluctant to reveal his greatest atrocity to Angelica. Angelica sat transfixed continuing to lightly rub her unborn child. Elijah spoke, "Mason?" but Mason only stared at Angelica. Angelica's eyes were cast down at the floor as she knew the answer to the question she was about to ask. She looked to Charlie who nodded his head at her. Angelica spoke again, her eyes rising to meet Mason's eyes, "Mason, where is Jeremy?" Mason did not answer. Angelica stood up slowly. "Mason, where is Jeremy?" Mason did not answer again and as Angelica thought about the ritual and how it was performed, she bolted toward the kitchen and vomited into the sink. Elijah followed behind her, holding her hair and rubbing her back until she was done. Rebekah asked, "What is it?" but it was Freya who answered, "Mason sacrificed his own son for the fertility ritual the same way that Voltanus, Alexander, and Rhea sacrificed Lorus, Romulus' son, for the ritual 5000 years ago."

Rafe was livid, "Mason, what did you do?" Mason sat back in his chair, saying nothing. Rafe advanced on Mason, fully intending to kill him for committing such an atrocity on a helpless boy. It was one thing to transfer into a body as the boy would live on, but it was altogether something else to slaughter an innocent. With a wave of Mason's hand, he sent Rafe flying back across the room, knocking over Albee in the process. Rafe and Albee scrambled up from the floor, and now Rafe, Albee and Charlie advanced on Mason again, only to be thwarted again by Mason who sent them crashing back into the walls. Angelica appeared suddenly between Mason and her three vampires, yelling, "Enough!"

She turned to Mason and demanded he provide the details of what occurred in the rituals that were performed on Elijah and Angelica. He related it all to them, the very real psychic linking spell, the use of Elijah and Angelica's blood to fix the amulet, and the sacrifice of his son to activate the fertility spell that Angelica and Elijah brought to fruition that same night, resulting in an unborn child that now has the genetic code of Alexander and Rhea as the biological child of Angelica and Elijah Mikaelson.

But the unborn child only had pieces of Elijah, Angelica, and Jeremy's soul. Three quarters of a soul that requires a blending with the soul of Romulus and Remus to be complete and to live. Bur Mason now had all he needed: Alexander's sword and Angelica to wield the sword, the fixed amulet and the unborn child with the right genetic code. All he needed now was for Angelica to slay him and his brother while wearing the amulet. "Oh, that's all," snapped Rebekah, "and how the bloody hell is she supposed to do that in her condition?"
