It was now the first of September. Two weeks had passed, and Toast, with the help of Mrs. Casket, had moved into a new apartment along with Ghost. They had moved in on the 30th and were starting to slowly adjust. Toast was reapplying the bandage to Ghost's arm twice a day. The bleeding had stopped, and Toast was confident that he would be able to remove the stitches around the 6th or 7th of September.
Ghost hadn't just gotten new scars on his arms, however. On the 27th, when Toast had had to replace the bandage on Ghost's arm, Ghost had removed his shirt to allow Toast to replace the bandage, and Toast saw, to his shock, that Ghost now had hundreds of scars on his chest and back as well as his arms. Toast had opened his mouth to ask Ghost about them, but Ghost just shook his head and Toast didn't say anything.
Toast woke up at 2 in the morning on the 2nd of September, hearing grunts and moans from the other room. He ran into Ghost's room to see him rolling from side to side under his blankets, sweating up a storm. Realizing he was having a nightmare, Toast leapt forward and began to shake Ghost awake.
Ghost woke up and looked at Toast, then tears began to stream down his face. Ghost held his arms out and wrapped them around Toast, sobbing into his shoulder. "Shh shh shh, calm down sir, everything's fine, nothing can get you while I'm here." Toast whispered, running a hand through Ghost's hair. Ghost continued to sob, tears flowing down his face. They both remained there for about ten minutes, Ghost sobbing and Toast trying to calm him down. Finally, Ghost stopped sobbing, and he sat up.
"Sorry, I had a nightmare." Ghost said shakily. "Was it about her?" Toast asked, and Ghost nodded. "It's completely fine sir, I don't mind at all."
Ghost smiled shakily and wrapped his arms once more around Toast, who accepted the hug happily. After a few minutes, Ghost laid back down and Toast sat in the room until Ghost fell asleep, just to ensure he wouldn't have another nightmare. Toast then returned to his own room and fell back asleep, the darkness surrounding him.

"Johnny, catch up!" Ghost cried, laughing as he ran. "I'm trying sir, you're too fast!" Toast cried back, trying frantically to catch up to Ghost, who was a few yards ahead of him.
"I'm not too fast, you're too slow!" Ghost replied, laughing as he kept running. He jumped over a trash can that had been knocked over and he ran all the way up the steps of his house and then around the back. He and Toast were playing tag, and Ghost was winning every round. Ghost ducked under an especially low tree branch as he ran through the backyard, Toast trying (and failing) to keep up with him. At the time, Toast was 9 and Ghost was 7, and it was the year 1993. Ghost managed to run around the house and back out to the front, Toast still far behind him. However, Ghost tripped and fell. When he sat up, his knee was bleeding and he began to cry. Mrs. Casket ran outside with a bandaid and stuck it on Ghost's knee. "Is that better?" She asked kindly, and Ghost nodded. "Alrighty then, you boys be careful now." She said before she went back inside, and Ghost and Toast continued their game.

Toast woke up to sunlight filtering through his blinds. It was 9 in the morning, and Ghost was still asleep. Toast fixed up some breakfast and when he was done, he went to wake Ghost up.
"Good morning sir, I made breakfast." Toast said, shaking Ghost awake. Ghost rubbed his eyes, sitting up in his bed. "Morning already?" Ghost groaned, and Toast nodded. "I'll get your hoodie out of the dryer, in the meantime you can go eat."
Ghost nodded, stepping out of bed and walking out of his room. Toast went to grab Ghost's hoodie out of the dryer as Ghost went to go eat. Toast had gotten into a habit of washing Ghost's hoodie once every two days, since it was pretty much the only top Ghost ever wore. (Well, that and his red undershirt)
Toast took some other clothes out of the dryer and folded them before putting them away. After he put them away, he grabbed Ghost's hoodie and walked out into the kitchen, where Ghost was eating breakfast. Toast handed Ghost his hoodie, and Ghost pulled the hoodie on over his shirt.
"Is the food good?" Toast asked, and Ghost nodded. "Did you get a good sleep, ya know, after the nightmare?" Toast asked. "Yeah, I managed to sleep okay."
Toast smiled. "That's good." Ghost smiled softly as he turned the TV on, and Toast went back to the laundry room to continue folding clothes.

Thanks for 100 reads! Pretty amazing considering this story's nearly 3 weeks old, and especially considering the amount of followers I have. Even on my other account where I have 103 followers, this amount of reads in such a short amount of time isn't that common. Anyways, enjoy the drawing! It's a lil' celebration piece I did for 100 reads! Anyways, thank you, and if you're into VT ships, keep an eye out for my newest story, Maddie's Lament! Gonna start writing the 1st chapter of that one soon.
Also, Ghost will have a little episode sometime during the next 3 chapters. Because of how mentally unstable my version of Johnny Ghost is, he's gonna have lots of little episodes. Anyways, enough of my rambling. Thanks for 100 reads! Thank ya!
