Ghost winced.
Toast pressed a wet cloth against Ghost's shoulder, wiping it around the gunshot wound. Ghost bit his lip, keeping his head down as Toast pressed a dry cloth against his shoulder, then grabbed a bandage to begin wrapping around the wound.
"Are you alright sir?" Toast asked, wrapping the bandage around Ghost's shoulder. "I'm fine, just hurts a little. Always does." Ghost replied, fiddling his thumbs around. Toast tilted his head, but nodded as he tied the bandage.
"I'd imagine it would hurt." Toast added, nodding. "I mean, I've never really been shot."
Toast cut part of the ends of the bandage with a pair of scissors, then handed Ghost his red shirt. "Ok well, we'll probably be able to remove the stitches in about ten days." Toast said as he stood up. "In the meantime, I'd rather you stay home as much as possible."
Ghost pouted. "Oh come on. I'm not a cat, don't confine me indoors." "I said as much as possible. I don't want you doing anything to aggravate your injuries."
Ghost kept pouting, but nevertheless nodded as he too got up. "What do you want to eat?" Toast asked.
Ghost shrugged in response.
"Alright." Toast replied. "Do you want some tea at least?"
"Sure." Ghost replied. "Alright, I'll make some." Toast replied as he busied himself with the kettle. Ghost turned the TV on, and sat down on the couch as Toast began to make some tea.

"Sir! It's 10 o'clock, get up!" Toast cried, patting the sleeping Ghost on the head. Ghost mumbled and turned over, and Toast sighed in exasperation. "Come on sir, you've been asleep for 12 hours now!"
Toast sighed, walking out of Ghost's room. The TV was playing on low volume, and the kettle was on the stove. Toast fiddled around in the kitchen, grabbing some food for himself as he waited for Ghost to wake up.
After Toast ate, he went to his computer to continue gathering up notes for his book. He began typing away, occasionally glancing at his paper notes to transfer them onto his computer. He began to hear movement from Ghost's room, as if he was waking up.
A few minutes later, a half awake Johnny Ghost stumbled into the room, rubbing his eyes as he yawned loudly.
"Good morning sir." Toast said as Ghost sat down in the chair next to him. "Mornin'." Ghost replied, laying his head on his arms.
"Do you want some breakfast?" Toast asked, and Ghost nodded. "Mhm."
"Do you want to pick, or would you rather I pick out what food?" Toast asked, standing up. "You pick." Ghost replied groggily, and Toast nodded as he walked to the kitchen.
As Toast prepared the food, Ghost turned the TV on, as it was really the only way to entertain himself. They hadn't had a call in weeks, and Ghost was getting antsy. Plus, Toast had basically banned him from stepping outside until his wounds healed, so he was stuck. Ghost glanced at some of the old pictures that hung on the walls; pictures of Ghost and Toast in elementary school, in middle school, at fairs, amusement parks, and malls. As children, they had truly gone everywhere together after they met. Mrs. Casket, being ecstatic that her adoptive son had finally made a friend, would take them anywhere they wanted and pay for it with the money she had gotten from her husband after his death. And especially since Ghost was often in hospitals as a child, Mrs. Casket made sure he had a fun time whenever he wasn't recovering from a gunshot/stab wound.
Ghost ran a hand through his messy, tangled hair and looked back at the TV, trying to concentrate on the movie that was playing. As it played, his eyelids drooped, and he eventually fell asleep shortly before Toast finished fixing breakfast.

Sorry for going so long without updating! I've been in high school for over a week now and I've also been trying to get back at a normal sleep schedule. Anyways, enjoy the chapter!
