"Happy Birthdaayyyy!" Ghost sang cheerfully, opening the door to Toast's bedroom. Toast shifted, groaning as he rubbed his eyes. "Good morning! Happy birthday!" Ghost announced, placing a tray on Toast's lap. The tray had a bowl of cereal, a banana and some milk.
"Thank you sir." Toast said sleepily, taking a spoonful of the cereal. "Once you're done, please put your plate in the sink. I have presents and cake for you for later today." Ghost said as he walked out of the room, and Toast smiled. He ate his breakfast slowly, savoring each bite he took. Ghost wasn't the best cook, but he wasn't terrible. Toast appreciated the fact that Ghost had tried to cook for him. The food was pretty good, Toast had to admit, as he ate the cereal from the bowl.
As Toast finished, he took the tray out to the kitchen. Ghost was laying on the couch, holding a box in his arms. Toast ran the water over the bowl, then turned the faucet off. As Toast walked up to him, Ghost smiled and jumped up, holding the box out. "Happy Birthday!" Ghost said cheerfully, handing the box to Toast. Toast took the box and opened it, revealing a black and gold watch. It was obviously a designer watch, and as Toast watched the little arms tick around the numbers, he was speechless.
"You bought this for me sir?" Toast asked incredulously, lifting the watch gingerly out of the box. "My mom helped me, but yeah." Ghost replied, a smile on his face. "I thought you'd like it."
Toast, speechless, ran towards Ghost and hugged him tightly. Ghost smiled, hugging him back. Toast fought the urge to kiss Ghost in glee, and he pulled away. "Thank you so much sir!" Toast cried, putting the watch on. Ghost smiled. "You're very welcome. Now, at three, we'll have cake."
Toast smiled gleefully, amazed that Ghost had bought him such a watch. Toast followed Ghost and they sat together on the couch, watching movies and laughing together. They talked, munched on some chips and pointed out little things about the movie. The time seemed to pass quickly, as they ignored the clock, caring about nothing else but that moment.

Toast eventually got up to use the bathroom at noon. Ghost laid there on the couch, blissfully happy. He hadn't been there for Toast's birthday in five whole years. He had missed five birthdays, and he knew he could never make up that time. Instead, he had decided to try and make each birthday of Toasts the best he had ever had from now on. That was, frankly, the most he could do to make it up to Toast. Ghost felt bad for missing all those birthdays, despite telling himself he shouldn't, as he didn't have control over it. Ghost shook his head, patting his cheeks with his hands, telling himself to think of something happier.
Both Ghost and Toast were so busy in the celebration that they had completely forgotten about what had transpired between them all those days ago. Relationship troubles seemed out of sight as they watched their movies, eating chips and laughing together. Ghost had been looking for a break from his thoughts and this was just what he had needed. Toast too had needed the mental break from his worries, and his birthday was the perfect opportunity. He splashed some water onto his face and fixed his hair, then stood up straight and smiled.
As Toast walked back out, Ghost was almost asleep, laying on the couch. Toast gently shook him awake, handing him a chip from the bag. Ghost smiled and ate it, as Toast sat back down on the couch. Toast took the remote and clicked play on the movie, and it resumed. He and Ghost then once again exchanged conversation, smiling and laughing together, their worries far away.

"Sir! It's three!" Toast cried, walking into the main room. "It is? Oh it is! Ok, let's have cake then." Ghost said, standing up. He then unveiled the cake he had bought. It was a beautiful cake, a rectangular cake with light gray icing, the pi symbol on the top in dark gray icing. Toast smiled as Ghost put candles on the cake. Ghost then sang Happy Birthday to Toast, who stood smiling. Toast blew out the candles, and Ghost then took up a knife to cut the cake. Toast was so happy he didn't even notice Ghost pick up the knife until he heard a cry and looked to see Ghost clutching his hand. "Sir!" Toast cried frantically as the knife fell to the ground, a trickle of blood on it. Ghost had cut his hand, and thus a transformation began. Toast hugged Ghost tightly, screamed his name and such but nothing worked. His eyes started turning red and his hair became lighter, and a thought came to Toast so suddenly that he acted upon it.
Toast kissed Ghost, having no idea of what else to do. Ghost froze, the transformation pausing midway as Toast hugged him tighter. Ghost's hair turned back to normal and his eyes soon changed back as well. As soon as they did, Ghost's eyes widened in surprise, then slowly closed. Ghost wrapped one arm around Toast, not wanting to fall out of his arms.
The two hugged each other tightly, as Toast slowly realized Ghost was back to normal. Finally, they broke apart, and Toast immediately scrambled to grab a bandage for Ghost, who was still shocked. Toast quickly wrapped a bandage around Ghost's hand. "You alright?" Toast asked, and Ghost nodded. They then went back to the cake, both of them trying to forget what had just happened.
