"Johnny! Which pumpkin should we buy?" Ghost asked, signaling for Toast to come to him. Toast walked over, glancing at the pumpkins on the ground. "How many do you want sir?" Toast asked. "3, 1 for you, 1 for me, 1 for both of us." Toast nodded and pointed to three pumpkins: two large ones and one medium/smallish one. Ghost picked up the smaller one and Toast held the two larger ones, and the two of them bought their pumpkins and drove home.
"Now sir, I don't really trust you with a knife. I don't want you to accidentally cut yourself." Toast said as he placed the largest pumpkin on some newspaper they had put on the kitchen table. "If you're so worried then just help me do it. Watch me carefully and help me to not injure myself." Ghost replied, and Toast shrugged before agreeing. As Ghost grabbed a knife, Toast began to outline the design on the pumpkin with a marker. Once the design was drawn, Ghost carefully began carving, as Toast watched dutifully, occasionally telling Ghost which way to carve and what to do. After a while, Ghost finished carving his pumpkin with no incident, and Toast then carved his.
Ghost's design was, of course, a ghost. Toast had gone for a witch riding a broomstick, and they both decided on a generic pumpkin face for the smaller one. Once they were done carving the smallest one, they put all 3 pumpkins away in a dark, cold corner to preserve them until Halloween. They then went back out shopping to buy candy and decorations."Ooh, get the skeleton. And the creepy spiderweb, and the mechanic ghost." Ghost said, pointing out decorations. Ghost's mother had been helping the two with funds, so they were going all out for Halloween, as it was Ghost's favorite holiday. After picking out dozens of decorations, they bought multiple bags of different types of candy, from Hershey's chocolate to Nerds. Their total was over $300, which they quickly paid before loading up their car and heading home. As soon as they got home, they unloaded their decorations and began to put them up. Toast had fetched a ladder, and together they strung lights from the gutter, and put stickers on the windows. They put a fake spiderweb with toy spiders along the front of the house, and put skeletons, tombstones, coffins and mechanical ghosts, witches, reapers and skeletons out in the front and side yard. They plugged in a smoke machine and hid it in the bushes, then covered the bushes with the fake spiderweb and spiders. They put a creepy torn curtain over the windows and the tree in the front yard, then put more toy insects in the fake spiderwebs. Once done, they marveled at their work. Clapping their hands together, Ghost and Toast headed back inside to watch a movie and eat food. They talked and laughed, eagerly discussing plans for Halloween night. They decided, for Ghost's safety, they would just stay home all night and hand out candy. Despite this, Ghost was still excited for Halloween, and Toast couldn't help but smile.
