Toast turned the light of the kitchen on, walking over to the stove. He grabbed the kettle and began to make himself a cup of tea. As he busied himself with the kettle as he tried to get a grasp on what was happening. He was falling in love with his best friend, and no matter what he had told himself, he was still falling in love. Toast laid in his bed almost every night, telling himself Ghost was his best friend and that he shouldn't have these feelings for him, but he couldn't stop himself. It was something about Ghost; the way he smiled, the way he laughed, the way he brushed his hair away with a single swipe of his hand. It was every minor detail about him. Ever since Toast realized his feelings, his mind became overwhelmed.
He couldn't stop thinking about Ghost, and why he was falling for him. What was it about Ghost, what was it about his laugh, his smile, what was it? Toast knew he was in love, but he didn't know why. No matter how much he thought and thought, he couldn't think of why he was falling in love, he just was.
Toast had been told before to never underestimate love, and he never understood until now. For hours a day, he told himself to stop, that he needed to get rid of his feelings, but his feelings stayed. And no matter what he tried, Ghost just wouldn't leave his head. He kept thinking about him, and as much as he wanted to stop, he couldn't.
As Toast finished making his cup of tea, his face turned red as he tried to concentrate on something else besides Ghost, who was still away visiting his mom. Toast sipped his tea and grabbed a book to read, trying valiantly to distract himself from his thoughts. He flipped frantically through the book's pages, flopping down onto the couch. His eyes glanced from the book to the photos on the wall, and as he sat there on the couch, he began wondering exactly what he'd gotten himself into.

As Toast looked around the house, he started to calm down. His mind had been on overdrive the past few days, and he was trying to calm his mind down. 'It's a simple crush', he told himself. 'Just a simple crush.'
Toast ate some cereal he had fixed for himself as he turned the TV on, watching the news. That murderer Jimmy Casket had seemed to have just disappeared into thin air. He was still killing, but now only once every two-four weeks did he strike. The reporters were discussing theories as to why he had suddenly slowed down, but nevertheless the entire town was in high spirits. Toast himself had never encountered the mysterious killer nor had he lost someone to him, but he was happy he hadn't.
Toast ate a spoonful of his cereal, turning the TV onto a movie, his thoughts of Ghost falling to the back of his mind.
Toast's little freakout at the beginning was based off of my own reaction when I fell for my female bff last year. We are no longer friends and I stopped liking her after about four months. Also I'm at lunch while I write this. I literally wrote an entire story chapter during my lunch period. :P
