"get up, we're here," sean nudges the sleeping mia before he exits the cab.

she slowly opens her eyes and then proceeds to follow sean who's already a few feet away. by the time she's caught up with him, he's fumbling with his keys at the front door. after trudging up the nine flights of stairs, the two enter to find julian eating in the living room.

"oh hey guys!" julian says mid chew of his pasta.

"is that the pasta i made this morning?" sean squints.

julian nods and begins to walk over to them. "hey mia, what brings you he-"

julian is cut off by sean angrily dragging him over to the bathroom while mia is left to wander around the apartment.

"how was the date?" julian asks excitedly.

"keep your voice down!" sean whisper-yells.

"someone's in a bad mood..."

"you wanna know why? because your brilliant idea of going on a date, mia's moving in,"

julian nearly chokes on his food as he stares back at sean. "already?!"

"she got evicted from her apartment and she has nowhere else to stay," sean explains in an irritated tone.

"i mean...is it all that bad? if you think about it-"

"yes it is all that bad!" sean snaps. "we barely know each other. don't you think it's a bit sketchy that she doesn't have anyone else to stay with?"

"not really, she is your soulm-"

"don't say that word!" sean glares at julian.

"what word? soulllmaaa-"

julian is interrupted by mia knocking on the door. "sean, did you find an extra toothbrush?"

julian unlocks the door, and sean angrily shoves a toothbrush to mia, then storms out of the restroom.

"i'm sorry about that," julian sighs.

"is he always like that?" mia asks.

"not always, but lately...i don't know what's up with him," julian frowns.

"i wish someone like you were my soulmate instead," she sighs. "i don't understand how he's supposed to be the one for me."

julian gives her a halfhearted smile, "he'll warm up to you, i promise. sean's a good guy, he just has...issues."

julian says goodnight to mia and leaves the apartment, not bothering to say goodbye to sean.

mia stares at the mirror for a while with a million thoughts rushing through her head. after she brushes her teeth, she walks out to the living room to be met by sean.

"here, you can wear this," sean hands her one of his old t-shirts. "take the couch. i'm going to bed."

sean walks off to his bedroom and locks the door behind him.
