sometimes, you just have to forget about the person you once loved and move on.
if this were seventeen year old sean, he'd probably still stand by that. and at times, he still does. but at this moment, that was something he could not do.
"w-what do you mean you're not my soulmate?" he stares back at vyo.
"i lied to you, i'm not your soulmate,"
"that doesn't make any fucking sense," he starts to pace back and forth, shaking his head in disbelief. there's just no way. "i saw the zeroes on your wrist."
"but did you, sean? did you really?"
"i know what i saw!"
"you only saw the zeroes, but did you see it count down? did you see the numbers switch when we met?"
what the fuck? i swear i saw those zeroes...i swear. he thinks to himself.
"i remember-"
she cuts him off. again. "try to remember, actually remember this time." she places emphasize on the word "actually".
of course he was actually trying, the hell does it look like?
"i remember being early to the restaurant...i remember having the waiter ask me if i was ready to order, i said i'd wait... i remember mia and julian walking in... then i...i.."
"you didn't see it turn zero," vyo says softly. she's looking away, but he continues to scan her face trying to figure out what she was about to say.
"um," julian clears his throat. "to be honest i have no idea what the fuck is going on, can someone explain...?"
vyo rolls her eyes and ignores him. but honestly, sean didn't understand either.
"it was already zero when we met," she says. "it'd been zero for years."
"what the fuck?!" sean's head starts pounding. "i feel like i'm gonna throw up."
"shit," jules coughs. "i did not see that coming..."
"who the fuck are you then?" sean raises his voice, and julian tries to calm him down.
vyo extends her hand and reaches over to sean, "can we just sit down? let me explai-"
