"WHY YOU BOTHER ME WHEN YOU KNOW YOU DON'T WANT ME?" mia screams the lyrics as she puts her strawberry scented shampoo in her hair.
"can you shut the fuck up?!" sean knocks loudly on the bathroom door. "i'm trying to study!"
mia's face turns a bright red, and she's grateful that he can't see her cheeks burning right now. she quietly whispers the rest of the lyrics to herself as she showers.
thirty minutes later, after she's dressed, mia leaves the restroom and peeks into sean's room to find him reading a stack of papers. she gently knocks and he looks over, "yes?"
"i didn't know you were a college student," she says as she walks over to sit on the edge of his bed.
he sets the papers down and turns his chair to face mia. "what did you think i did when i wasn't working?"
"i dont know..." her voice trails off. "well, what are you majoring in?"
"okay, well i'm not actually a college student. i graduated two years early," he admits.
"oh...so what are you studying for?" she tilts her head in confusion.
she stands up and peers over sean's shoulder to read 'director's final copy'.
"you're a director?!" she says in shock. "you never told me that!"
sean grabs the script from mia's hands irritatedly and says, "because it's none of your business."
she folds her arms and glares at sean. "you're a lot nicer when you're drunk, you know that?"
he stands up from the chair and steps closer to mia. "do you wish i was drunk right now?"
"fuck off," mia rolls her eyes and leaves his room.
she grabs her coat and leaves the apartment without saying another word to sean.
he hears the door slam and sighs. he walks over to the living room and calls julian and josh to come over.

"i've never met someone so full of themselves," mia sinks herself into the couch of the coffee shop.
"i mean... i understand why," maddie says as she scrolls through sean's instagram. "if i was that good looking, i'd be in love with myself too."
"give me that!" mia snatches her phone from maddie's hands.
"what? do you not think he's cute?" maddie arches eyebrow.
"looks don't mean anything when you have a shitty attitude,"
"so you do think he's cute," maddie chimes.
"whatever," mia rolls her eyes.
"what does he even do to make you hate him that much?"
mia pauses for a moment. "well, first off he's total jerk. he's so pessimistic about everything. he's so damn secretive, all he does is lock himself in his room while i get neck pain staying on that stiff couch of his."
"well, you did ask to stay with him the second day of meeting him. what did you expect?" maddie laughs.
"you're supposed to be on my side! but okay fine, i can understand that part," mia nods. "but the guy had a girlfriend! or has, i'm not sure if he broke that off yet. but who on earth stays in a relationship when they're literal hours away from meeting your soulmate!"
mia runs her hands through her hair messily, getting annoyed at the image of sean popping into her head.
"are you jealous?" maddie smirks.
"no," mia rolls her eyes again. "also, he's totally against the whole soulmates thing. it's like he hates love or something."
"maybe you can be the one to change that," her best friend winks.
"i don't think so," mia sighs. "and he said he was in love, or loved, whatever, someone. i guess it ended so badly that it made him never want to experience it again."
"so that's it? you guys just won't bother falling in love?" maddie frowns.
"i'd never fall for him,"

"she's a total weirdo," sean takes a sip of the beer in the midst of their pause of their videogame.
"how so?" josh asks.
"for starters, who asks someone they barely met if they can move in with them? she has no sense of boundaries," sean groans. "she even redecorated the place."
"you gotta admit it looks a lot nicer," julian points out.
"smells nicer too," josh adds jokingly. "is it really the worst thing if you live with her? it's not like you won't in a few years."
"why does everyone keep saying that?" sean asks with an annoyed look on his face.
"because you're sou-"
"don't say that word," sean stops julian. "that doesn't mean anything to me."
"why don't you at least try to get to know her?" julian shrugs.
"yeah, what's the worst that could happen? you fall in love?"
sean sinks himself into the couch and brings the beer can to his lips, whispering to himself, "exactly."
