Today was nerve racking. You never thought that you would be able to go to college but to your surprise your ACT scores where high enough. You were one of the top students in your class.
Campus was a twenty minute train ride from Sean's apartment. You were supposed to go and register, then move in the next day.
Before you both left, you made sure your letter from the school, letter from your parents, and all of your class fees were in a big yellow envelope. Check.
The line for registration was super long. Enough time to calm your nerves by talking to Sean about video games. Once you got him on a topic of a game, Sean wouldn't stop talking.
He was in the middle of your daily update on overwatch when the young man that was taking forms yelled next.
You shimmied on up to the desk and handed the young man your envelope. He looked like he might be a junior or senior in college. His facial hair wasn't as stunning as Sean's.
The guy had dark brown hair and green eyes. His jawline was very chiseled as he puckered out his lip. His hair barely covered his eyes when he let his head fall.
He looked up at you and handed you a blue folder. "Everything you need should be in there. There are maps all around campus including the one in your folder. Your room key should be in there along with your schedule. You will receive copies of the documents that you've turned in today by the end of the week." His voice was deep and the paragraph he said must have been planted into his brain. It made him sound like a robot.
You looked at Sean in confusion like: Did you just hear this poor robot boy?
The boy looked up at Sean now like he was annoyed. He rolled his eyes and said, "Dyed hair isn't allowed."
"I'm not a student. Just helping my friend." Sean said kindly but you could tell he was a tad bit annoyed. This made you giggle.
Sean grabbed your wrist and pulled you out of the line before you died laughing.
With Sean's help, you finally found your dorm room. You took the key out and tried to open the door but it wasn't locked.
You opened the door timidly to see a girl with purple hair rocking out to Twenty One Pilots. Sean bobs his head along with the beat.
The girl catches your eye and turns down the music on her computer. "Hey! You must be my roommate!" She said excitedly. She hasn't noticed Sean.
"Yeah. I didn't think we could move in earlier." You say.
"Oh well my dad talked to the school and got them to agree. He wanted me out of the house as soon as I graduated high school." She laughed.
You tense up but Sean puts his hand on your back. You make room for him to stand in the room.
"I'm Sydney." She says holding her hand out. You take it and introduce yourself with a smile.
Sydney's eyes find Sean and her jaw instantly drops. She gasps and points like she forgot how to speak. She wraps around your arm and blushes into your shoulder.
"Let me guess. Fan of jacksepticeye?" You ask cooly.
"Y-yes!" Sydney studders. Sean gives her a friendly smile and goes to give her a hug. Sydney jumps up and down with joy afterwards.
You each exchange goodbyes and you and Sean leave the campus.
"Why are we leaving so soon? Don't you want to see your classes and hang out with that Sydney girl some more?" Sean asks as you both walk to the train station.
"No. Not really." You say with your head down. Sean stops you with his hand taking yours.
"Is something wrong?" He asks.
"I guess I just don't want to grow up yet." You admit.
Sean ponders before saying, "Then lets go get your hair dyed like we planned. That is if you want to. You don't have to."
"I want to. Maybe that will make me feel better." You say and you both walk hand in hand to the station.
The hair salon didn't change from the last time you had been there. Still the same fake plants and sent of over the top hair dyes. Sean introduced you to his stylist. She was a young woman with her hair tied back so tight that it made the skin on her face tighten. She sat you in a chair and wrapped an apron around your neck. It was way to tight for you.
The stylist left to go get the bleach and plan out the colors for your hair. Of course Sean would want you to get a raspberry color. His cheeky grin was what made you agree.
When the stylist started, you tensed up. You never thought about getting your hair dyed. You've always loved your hair just the way it was. It was the same color as your mother's so it was very important to you. But now that you were dyeing it, it didn't seem like you needed to keep her with you anymore.
Sean took your hand and you loosened your shoulders. You looked over at the Irishman with glossy eyes. He gave you a smile that showed his teeth.
You blushed.
Sean never let go of your hand throughout the entire time at the salon.
