Ch.3

"You don't have to spend your life looking backwards. We've been through this over and over again~"

"I'm heading out!" You called and watched as your dog simply yawned and rolled over on the tile.

You chuckled softly, glad to have the apartment just to yourself and your dog, Bo. While it got lonely at times, mornings like today where you did not have to shove past others or worry about others making you late seemed like bliss.

You turned and locked the door before dashing down the steps to the ground floor to head to the train to take to UA. As you rounded the corner, you came first face with someone who was also in a hurry to get down the stairs as well it appeared.

"Ah!" You cried and fell on your butt, your backpack detaching itself from your person and landing on the person you had crashed into.

"Ah! (Name)-chan!" A familiar nervous voice called out and you blinked your (eye color) eyes open and then smiled widely.

"Midoriya-kun! Do you live in these apartments too?"

Izuku nodded and handed you your backpack again. "Yes my mom and I do. I didn't know you lived here as well. We should walk to school together and back home!"

"Yeah! But just in the mornings I'm afraid. I have some things UA is requiring me to do after school."

"Some things?" The boy asked as you both started walking back down the stairwell.

You waved your hands. "I-it's nothing really! Just an agreement that was made between myself and UA that would allow for me to enter as late as I did."

Izuku nodded hesitantly and watched as you switched the subject. He could not help but think of the large question mark over yourself and how involved UA was in your life compared to his or any of his other classmates.

In his opinion... it seemed as if UA had some sort of tight leash around your neck. Your entrance and reason for being were under strict need to know orders, your life outside of school seemed significantly less free than his did. And most importantly... All Might & Aizawa-sensei both seemed to hover over you and your actions more than any teacher would... almost as if they were meant to monitor you.

But why?

And then there was the thing that struck Izuku as the most strange and disturbing about you: he felt like he knew you. Not like in as a past friend, but rather he's walked next to you before and seen your quirk before in some way.

"Midoriya-kun!" You shouted, slamming your palms against the boy's cheeks and rubbing them in an attempt to snap him out of his thoughts.

"Ah! Y-yes?!" He called and looked back at you. Outside he seemed to be trying to figure out what happened... but internally he was freaking out that a girl touched his cheeks.

"The train is here! Hurry up or we'll be late!"

You both rushed on just in time. You sighed contently and flashed your new friend a smile. Izuku returned it a moment later, no longer wanting to dwell or space out on the mystery revolving around you. After all, no good would come from allowing his mind to wander into irrational reasons.

Later~

The class erupted into cheers as Midnight walked in and waved to the class. It had just been announced that everyone would be picking names and the tension in the room was soon replaced by excitement.
