Connor's POV
"So let me get this straight. Or, pretty gay, in this case. You kissed him. You couldn't say any audible words, and then you packed your stuff together and told him you'd go home early." Zoe's eyebrows are stitched together almost comically. I bet she's holding in a laugh.
"I already fucking told you!" I half-yell.
"You're not exactly good at this whole romance thing, are you?" Zoe asks, probably as a joke.
"I've never exactly had any friends, boyfriends, or liked any person in existence." I sneer. Zoe laughs.
"Well, I, Zoe, am not a psychopath, like you. I actually have friends." This earns a glare for her.
"You've never had a boyfriend." I raise my eyebrows.
"Hey, I read and watch more romance than anyone my age. I've helped with this before. I'm practically a love doctor."
"Please don't say 'love doctor', thanks," I grumble.
"Fine, but you need to at least tell him you like him. And, maybe, if he likes you too, ask him out? I mean, it's classic stuff you should know."
"Who said I-"
"Dipshit, Dipshit... You wouldn't kiss him if you didn't like him. Who does that?" Zoe interrupts.
"You know what? Fine, I like him, whatever." I roll my eyes.
"See? Admitting it to yourself is the first thing. It's no news you're gay anyway. You've told us." I say nothing, and Zoe decides to continue.
"Anyway, you've got to tell him!" Zoe exclaims.
"You've never told any of your crushes you liked them, have you?" I assume.
"No... But I also didn't kiss them and then leave as soon as I took them back to their house, Connor."
"Can we not talk about that? I panicked, dude."
"'Dude'?" Zoe laughs.
"Shut up," I change the subject, "How the fuck am I supposed to tell him I like him?"
"It doesn't have to be a speech. Just be like 'I'm sorry I kissed you out of nowhere, it's just that I have feelings for you and couldn't help myself.' Not those exact words, though, make up your own." Zoe makes it sound easier than it really is.
"Fine, I will." I comply.
"Okay, where's my money?" Zoe smiles.
"I'm not paying my sister for some stupid relationship advice."
"I'm just kidding, chill." She chuckles, I pull the door open calmly, shutting it again quietly.
"You know, for a minute there I was surprised you didn't slam the door." She laughs, her voice muffled a bit from the door.
"Shut the hell up, Zoe," I yell as I walk downstairs.
"Hey, Connor, let's not." Cynthia has an endearing tone to her voice. I check my pocket for my phone, and sure enough, it's there.
"I'll be back soon." Cynthia looks at me when I say this.
"Chill. I'm not high or anything. I just left something at Evan's house." I make up a reason for going to his house.
"Be back soon." I nod, exiting the house with, surprisingly, no slam of a door.
-----
I get to Evan's house, taking a deep breath before knocking on the door. It takes a couple of knocks before the door is answered. It's answered by an angry looking Ms. Hansen.
"Oh, the guy who just kissed my son and then dropped him off at home." Ms. Hansen sighs.
"I've come to say I'm sorry. Where's Evan?" I ask, looking into the house.
"Where Evan is is none of your concern." She answers.
"Ms. Hansen. I-I'm sorry. I want to apologize. I never apologize, and Evan... Evan means a lot to me." I plead.
"I'll tell him you're here." Ms. Hansen lets me in. I stand near the entrance, hoping Evan will want to see me again after this. Ms. Hansen calls me from upstairs and I sigh a sigh of relief. Ms. Hansen leaves when I enter, shutting the door and probably listening close by. As soon as the door shuts, Evan runs up to me and kisses me, pushing be back against the door and bringing me surprise. I, of course, kiss back and pull away seconds later.
"I-"
"You don't need to apologize." Evan smiles gently.
"I have feelings for you." I blurt out.
"I do too, Connor." Evan looks into my eyes. Around his eyes are what look like dried up tears.
"Did I make you cry?" I ask in disbelief.
"I was so confused. It's not your fault."
"Oh, okay." I sigh.
"You were probably terrified. I would have run too," He says. I nod.
"Uh, this might be a bit too soon, but do you want to go out with me or whatever?" I ask, trying to follow the things Zoe told me to say.
"Yeah, uh, yeah. I would." Evan beams.
"Good," I say.
"Good."
This is a bit short, by 200 words, but I had to get an update up soon! This fanfic'll be ending soon, probably, still deciding. If it were to end soon, I mean in 5-10 chapters, not including the epilogue, by the way. :D
I'll see you beans another time!
