This year's Thanksgiving dinner was a hybrid of both families. Grammy Stilinski couldn't have been more welcoming to Lydia, her mother, and Nana. In fact, Grammy Stilinski and Nana instantly bonded over playing bridge, Full House, and plate collecting, a hobby that they had both adopted after they had retired from answering phones, another similarity.

Whilst Stiles was watching the game with his uncles, Dad, cousins, and a few aunts, Lydia was in the kitchen helping out with dinner. She was a natural in the kitchen, which was a surprise after all of the microwaveable meals and takeout menus she had. As she was helping Grammy Stilinski prepare the soup, adding spices and vegetables, she asked a question that most definitely caught Lydia off guard. "When are you and Stiles going to get cracking and cook a bun in that oven of yours?" She winked, pushing for details, no matter how inappropriate it was.

That was the thing that all the Stilinski's had. They were blunt and wouldn't run chasing for answers, they wouldn't hesitate to get to the point. Lydia had picked up on it when they spent the Fourth of July together and was fully aware of it now too. The only exception to this gene she observed was when Stiles talked about his love life or her. To a certain degree, he was private with his feelings. Yes, he was capable of expressing them, but he wouldn't if he doubted that they were unrequited. With this inkling of doubt drilled into his head, he would set a lock-down on his heart, as a result of not only not wanting to, but also being too scared to communicate his feelings.

Lydia dropped the opened can of cranberry sauce, sending the sound of the metal crashing to the floor throughout the house. Stiles and a few other members of the Stilinski clan immediately swept into the kitchen. Lydia wiped her hand off her face, not really knowing how to react. "Sorry, just a little spill." She then politely shooed those that had entered the room away, "go back to watching the game, I got it."

However, Stiles stood with his body leaning against the door frame admiring her cleaning up the mess. They may have broken up, but that didn't mean she wasn't still attractive to him.  When she stood up with stray hairs flailing away from her face, he motioned her to come towards him. Stiles gave her a cheeky smile, taking his hands in hers. "Don't worry about it, no one ever eats that stuff anyway. Now, how is my favorite girl doing in the kitchen?"

"Besides, that one spillage that just occurred, fine." Even in the wedge boots, she was wearing she still had to look up at him. In fact, even in her highest stilettos she still had to tilt her head upwards just for her eyes to meet his lips.

Grammy Stilinski turned down the heat of the oven, walking towards the couple as she wiped her hands on a cloth. "Stiles, you picked the right girl. She's so sweet. They may not look alike, but she reminds me of your mother. In fact, you two remind me of Noah and Claudia when they were younger." A smile surfaced on each of them because they remembered how it was between his mom and dad before Claudia got sick. Their relationship had what every couple dreamed of, an undying love. Lydia knew her for a little over a year, as Claudia passed away sometime towards the end of the second season, so even though Lydia only witnessed a small portion of their relationship, she knew it was real. Lydia hugged his grandma. She was the definition of down to earth. Grammy Stilinski could be funny and her opinions were not only frank but came from her heart, further proof that it ran in the family. Grammy Stilinski was about an inch or two shorter than Lydia, making Lydia the taller one, which was rare in her daily world.

Stiles' arms latched loosely around Lydia's neck, kissing her head before resting his chin on her locks of strawberry blonde. Grammy Stilinski commented, "you treat her well, Stiles." She gave him the stink eye, something that caused Lydia to chuckle, pulling his arm around her towards her chest, hugging her tighter.
